POST EXAMPLE;;
Hazel watched in awe as Jada emptied her pack and out came a bunch of useful things. If Hazel were to empty hers, she'd find a waterlogged cell phone and MP3 players as well as a few miscellaneous clothes and jewelry. It was obvious Jada was used to being outside. Hazel had packed nothing of any real use. Slightly envious of Jada's survival skills, Hazel found herself frowning. At least she could be somewhat helpful with Archie building a blazing fire.[/i][/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/size]
"Well, I'm glad to hear you've had someone to watch over you." Hazel said, smiling at Lyric. She felt a bit better now, knowing that Jada hadn't lived her whole life alone. Even with her parent's unwavering support, she'd always had Archie by her side. Sometimes that was more important than anything her parents could do or say.
"Ah yes, firewood. Good idea." Hazel said, turning herself towards Archie. "I trust you can find us some stuff." Hazel said, rubbing the scruff near Archie's ears affectionately. Wagging his fluffy tail in happiness as her fingers expertly found the right spot, Archie nodded ever so slightly, knowing it would be no issue maintaining a fire. "Maybe you can take Lyric with you?" Hazel asked, looking at Jada and her pokemon.
Archie nodded and motioned for Lyric to hop on his back. Taking off Archie quickly ran out, heading for the tangle of trees offshore. It wasn't long before Archie was able to locate a large mass of fallen branches and logs. Grabbing a mouthful, he sprinted back towards the cave and deposited them inside. Doing this a few times, Archie felt he had enough to last them the night.
As the two pokemon were out collecting firewood, Hazel sat down inside the overhang. The sand was dry, which meant she didn't quite need a sleeping bag. In fact, she was more than content curling up with Archie. it wasn't as nice as bed, but it certainly wasn't something Hazel would complain about.
Once Archie was back inside, another loud crash of thunder signaled the beginning of the storm. It started slowly, just a few raindrops. Within a few minutes, it seemed as if the sky had unleashed it's fury. Luckily for the small group, it seemed as if Jada's makeshift wall was working perfectly. Beads of water rolled quickly down the plastic, leaving no room for the four to get soaked. "Great idea Jada. You'll have to tell me how you know all this stuff. I'll start up the fire."
With that, Hazel picked a spot far away from the plastic, near the entrance of the little cave. Just enough so the warmth would sink back towards them, but not enough so that Hazel would worry about dying in her sleeping. Setting up a few decent sized branches Hazel clicked her tongue when she was done. "Look good Arch?" She asked, getting an approving lick on the cheek from her pokemon. "Light me up then."
Letting out a gentle puff of air, the whole set of fire logs that Hazel had set up was now in flames. It wasn't long before the heat began to creep into the cave. Throwing two more large sized branches, Hazel retreated back in, closer to Jada. Sitting down on the sand, Archie came up and wrapped himself around Hazel. Laying down with a happy sigh, it wasn't long before the large fire pokemon closed his eyes. Curling her body into the familiar nook of Archie, Hazel began to run her hands through her pokemon's fur. Outside the weather began to get frightful. Large flashes of lightening and thunder so loud the ground shook greeted Hazel's ears.
"So Jada, tell me about yourself? If we're going to be stuck here for a day or two, we might as well get to know each other, eh?" Hazel asked, wanting to drown out the sounds of the storm with idle chit-chat.
