"Be good to yourself when" 'Nobody else will' "You're walkin' on high wire" Caught in the cross fire Crystal walked solemnly, yet determinedly through the dark gloomy forest. There were plenty of bug pokemon, and she knew that she could easily catch one of all of them, but the main focus of this journey was to catch the legendary "monster" of Yami forest. When she had announced on the spot that she would go capture this monster, the pokemon trainers who had told her of it all stared at her in fear, and in amazement. Crystal had been through many, many battles, more experience than most seventeen year old trainers could get in thirty years. She had pretty much, with the help of all her friends, saved Johto twice, as well as Hoen once, from domination by evil organizations, from total destruction, and from evil organizations seeking vengence. A pokemon monster was a trivial thing for Crystal. She didn't have Mega out with her, knowing that the Sweet Scent of Mega's flower would quickly attract swarms of bug pokemon that she would rather not have to waste tons of time on. Her path led her straight in the direction of the deepest part of Yami forest. Even with her immense experience fighting the meanest bad guys this world has ever known, the pure darkness and eeriness combined with the skittering of bug pokemon all around sent a shiver up her spine, and the hair on the back of her neck was on edge. She kept glancing behind her, and all about, even though she could only see shadows. There was hardly any light at all, even though she had deliberately chose to come here during the day than the night. Crystal was much less afraid of getting lost than she probably should have been, for this forest was famous for everything bad that could happen in a forest.

This was just lovely, wasn't it? All day long, she'd trekked all across the region of Lyeant, pickpocketting pathetic bystanders and - oh, how to put this midly... - impaling those who strayed to far from the path with her knife on her way to assassinate one of the head honchoes over in Chisai. Now, only now had the warned her of a powerful trainer who was supposed to be in the nearby area who needed to be done away with before she could become a problem in the group's endevours. This kind of information would have been nice, oh, you know, a little earlier, when she could have prepared herself for the kill? All she had on her now was Tarka, Runi, a bloody knife, and a sickly green jacket to cover up and blood stains from her raid of that Chisai man's home. He wasn't very strong, anyway, just important; she didn't even need a weapon in order to strangle the life out of him.
In other words, Ilixie was unarmed and up against a true opponent.
The night time sky was like an ink-black blanket drapped across the heavens above. The stars were hardly visable at that point in time, the moon being the only source of light for those who dared stray from their homes at that time of night. Even then, every so often, a cloud would drift before it, blocking it's pale rays and plunging the region into darkness. They said that, on nights like these, a terrible monster stalked any human who so foolishly got themselves lost in the sea of trees. That was just fine; looked like she wasn't the only beast prowling Yami's Forest that night. The leaves crunched beneath her black boots, a stray wind crawling up her bare legs and sending shivers of cold down her spine. This was just her kind of place. Dark. So, so very dark. Large enough that no one could hear you if you screamed and - even if they had - no one would run to your rescue in fear of loosing themselves.
The teal-haired woman was lead here by numerous rumors throughout the nearby area that a powerful trainer, a foreigner from Johto, no less, planned on battling and possibly capturing the fabled "monster of Yami's Forest". It was worth a shot, looking through the area for her new target. Even if she couldn't find this foreigner, she could always train, or if she lost her way, she had a transmitter that could send her location back to headquarters, paging someone to get off their lazy butt and save her's. It was a win-win sort of situation, if she did say so herself, but it still bothered her a bit that they were sending her on missions repeatedly. Now adays, she hardly had time to stop by her room near Veherna and pull herself together after a kill before she was on the road again. Ciello was, strangely, off the radar. Now, she was taking orders from Elites and Executives. Those fools - she hadn't made a deal with them. She was Ciello's personal slave, not a puppet who could be picked up and played with when it's true owner was away. Of course, disobeying orders from higher ups would go straight to the leader, and that would not be good. Not good at all.
"I-I'm going to snap for good..." she breathed, realizing just how close to the edge she was with an awful pang, "if I... I don't get a break soon..." Throughout the entire walk there and the actual trek through the forest itself, she had been trying to pick up the pieces from letting Sayryn take the reigns once more. It was becoming more and more difficult every time. When she first joined, outburst were few; she had more control than from when she was younger and her mind was, you know, falling to pieces. She snapped in and out of her murderous rampages quickly, the change being instant and very noticable. Now, she snapped into her crazed state and gradually reverted to normal unless something really triggered her mind into returning to it's original state. This was, as one could easily imagine, not a good thing.
She always knew she was insane, but, at least, back then, she had a bit of a hold on what was left of her shattered sanity.
The Team Imum grunt had released Runi into the air a few minutes ago to scout the area and report back to her with signs of any life. The Shuppet's trainer didn't need to worry about it getting caught; it was a ghost-type, meaning it was unseen to the human eye unless it let itself materialize into it's purple-colored form. It was the perfect scout and would easily relay the message, even if it's master could hardly process half the things going on around her. This, of course, left her alone with Tarka, who's protective instincts left it looking up at her continuously throughout the night and catching her any time she lost her step. She'd caught this Pokemon with intstructions from her master, guessing as she hadn't raised any Pokemon since before her days with Imum, but the dog-like Pocket Monster had still found it in itself to protect her at all costs. She was a little rude and - well, you probably knew this by now - loopey in the head, but she had a kinder side from time to time. Plus, if he didn't help her, no one would, and how messed up would she be then? She appretiated his presence at that moment, of course, but, had they been jumped by someone - or, worse, something - there was little he could do to protect her. She killed more than he did; he was hardly trained at all, being only half the level of her newly caught partner.
"Tarka... Come..." Ilixie ordered breathily, finding it increasingly difficult to get a firm hold on herself. The creature obeyed after a moment of hesitation. "T-try to... sniff out the enemy, would you...?" With a nod, the Houndour lifted it's head to the sky in an attempt to track down their latest target. While she waited, the faint female fell to her knees, landing on the ground with a light thud. When the canine's ears perked - was that a signal that he'd found the monster hunter? - she could hear his voice plain as day, echoing throughout her head.
"Not letting you rest, are they? Well, that's alright. They're making it easy for me to find an openning," the demon was saying. There was an animal clawing at the back of her mind, begging for entrance.
If it's so easy, why am I not ripping this place in two? she shot back in silence, finsing she had little energy to talk, much less engage in an arguement with the thing she loathed the most in the world.
"I thought I'd be nice for once. Is that such a bad thing?"
Biting her lip, she replied, You? Be nice? I'll believe that when that stupid monster comes to attack me. The chances of that happening? Uh, yeah. No way.
"Than let me strike you a deal. You let me in and I won't won't make it too bloody."
How 'bout I let you in once... and I never let you in again? Sound fair?
"I can take you by force." A sudden pain errupted in her head and she knew what was happening instantly. She knew it was happening. "I've done it before."
"T-try me..." she whispered.
"Well, if you insist..." Not five seconds later and the female was falling to the ground, clutching her head as she tried to fight back against his reign over her mind. It wasn't fair! She was still recovering from the last attack; she didn't stand a ghost of a chance of fighting back this time! However, he didn't care. The easier the better, she assumed. Hardly sixty seconds had gone by when her mind was fading once again for the second time that day. Before she was thrown into utter darkness, however, a tiny voice whispered in her ear, "But don't worry - I'll make ure not to make as much of a mess as last time, alright, sweety?"
With the everthrow of Ilixie's mental state and her body taken into the captivity of another, Tarka was swiftly returned to it's Poke' Ball, despite the canine's protest, and the Shuppet out and about in the woods was swiftly forget. She'd had so much taken out of her after that last kill and, if what she'd gathered from her "other self" was true, throwing herself into battle against this skilled trainer seemed like a new form of suicide. She'd also promised the weakling to not go too overboard this time, which really left her with few options. Maybe she'd make small talk with this person when she found them, acted like a normal person trying to befriend them. Well, as normal as she could feign with her shattered mind. With great haste, the hunter made her way through the trees as quietly as she could - which probably wasn't exactly silent, but... - in search of this "Crystal" person who needed to be done away with. And, in hardly any time at all, the target was spotted.
"Hey, Hey!" The pig-tailed woman called to the... pig-tailed woman across from her. The resemblance between the two was slightly disturbing, if one really thought about it. Both were decently tall, wore their teal hair in pig-tails, and, apparently, were Pokemon trainers. That, and they were both wandering around in the middle of a forest, never knowing when a monster would come out and attack them. Small talk, she had to remember. She promised small talk. "I heard you were huntin' down a monster. Can I join you, can I? I love monsters! Love, love, love them!" From the words she spoke and the tone of voice used, it'd have to take an idiot for someone to not realize that there was something very... off about her, despite her "kind" intentions. "I like your hair, lady! Looks like our minds think alike, huh? Wouldn't you think? Don't you think so? Huh, don't you?"

"Be good to yourself when" 'Nobody else will' "You're walkin' on high wire" Caught in the cross fire Crystal, as alert as ever, heard the quickly approaching footsteps. They sounded too human to be that of a "monster", but in her situation, she had no reason to relax. The mood was just perfect to where she got that feeling that something was certainly not right, and whatever path fate was taking her was taking her closer to danger. Although she turned toward the sound, she couldn't very well see who was coming toward her very clearly as anything but a shadow, and just as Crystal's hand was instinctively inching toward her pokeball, a woman called out to her from the shadow, and showed herself in the faint light. Crystal had to restrain from jumping in surprise. Why was she so on edge? She should be glad to find some form of familiar life out here! But even so, she couldn't shake off the feeling that something still was not right, and fate was continuing on its path to a danger she'd rather avoid. The other teal haired, twin-tailed girl's energetic personality almost caught Crystal offguard. Almost, except for that her senses were ringing the danger bell, if there was such a thing. "Huh?" She simple said in confusion, waving her hands in the air. "What? Uhh, I guess you could, but there's only one monster, right?" Crystal tried to smile politely, but it was a fake one. Her instincts told her that something was off, and this girl was the source of Crystal's uneasy feelings. "You weren't planning on catching it, were you?" Crystal had rarely ever gotten comments on her hairstyle, and at that, she never really minded. "Uh, thanks." By the way, wasn't it her mother who had sort of invented Crystal's hairstyle? Crystal couldn't really remember; she only knew that she had always had this hairstyle even since she was a very small child. "I guess, but in the light, my hair's actually a dark blue color, and, um, who are you? My name is Crystal."
