ILIXIE NYRAKID - UNIQUE CATEGORYIt was the perfect winter coat. Black in color with a hood lined in false fur. Sleeves long enough to cover any person's arms sufficently. Material that was waterproof on the outside, and soft on the inside. But, best of all, it would keep a soul warm in even the most frigid of temperatures. Such a marvelous peice of clothing put her own ratty sweater and poorly knitted scarf. It - unlike clothing that let the wind right on through - would protect her from the harsh winter weather. But she did not intend to keep such a thing for herself if she truly did purchase it. Now, she had one person on her mind.
Josh.
He could use a coat, couldn't he? Ilixie thought, pressing her face against the glass and catching sight of the outrageous price. Last I saw, his clothes look worse than a dumpster. But... I don't have the money... Her eyes lingered on the black jacket for a moment longer before she tore herself away with great haste. As the image of her beloved friend in it appeared in her mind, however, she hurried her pace and formed a plan.
...
The money was in her hands. It had taken her a while - about a week or so - to get enough, but to pig-tailed girl had it now and that was all that mattered.
"Um... I'd like to buy that black coat you had in the display window a while back." she said to the cashier quietly.
"I'm sorry, dear, but we're out of stock right now."
"Oh. Okay, then. I'll... go now."
Pushing through the door, eyes downcast, she reminded herself that, even with that coat, she would probably never see him again, anyway.
291 words.
