GONNA CATCH'EM ALL FOR REALS [MOD/OPEN]

She had left all her pokemon back at home in Johto, except for Mega. She had a bond with this pokemon that was, well, just different, and it had been forged from their adventures together. It would be a bit of a challenge for her, to find new friends to join her team with abilities that would benefit her goals, but it was a challenge she was willing to take. First things first, she had to meet with the pokemon professor of this town, for he or she would be the new person she would be working under in her mission to capture all the pokemon of the national pokedex, in other words, all known pokemon in the entire world. Having already completed the Johto dex, that took about 150 pokemon off the list, but still, the pokemon without data in the pokedex were of great numbers, and this was the challenge of a lifetime. It was a challenge only she could complete, if anyone, for she was "The Catcher". Crystal dismounted Mega, and the two traveled on foot through the dark, theatening woods, in search of the tiny, overlooked town where the professor lived. It actually took longer than she expected, but soon enough, the two travelers came upon the little town, and it wasn't as hard as finding the town to find out where the professor, Professor Pine, lived. Anyway, after all that business, (since idk if someone/the admin plays the professor, and such a situation has yet to be plotted out) Crystal began her journey on Route 1, walking down the pretty path on a cloudy day with her Meganium, Mega, using Sweet Scent to lure out pokemon from hiding. She had one goal in mind, and it was to obtain data for the pokedex on all the pokemon to be found here. Her eyes were full of completely focused determination. She meant business. o o c || hope it doesn't offend anyone that I don't think it's that necessary to put in the effort to post jumbo posts for mod threads ;3 but out of respect for the people I rp with, if someone joins in, I'll try to give a decent post ^^ w o r d s || 328 t a g s || mod~!

The time was now. Long had he been cooped up in his home tree as a young skittish babe. Then even as a pokemon coming into the prime of his life, he had always been sheltered and binded to the nearby areas of their home. Always yearning for more, he was daring and crazy to those of his family. But no more! He was free to go out on his own finally having reached the age of maturity where to stay home any longer would be too much of a hassle.

Climbing up a new tree in sheer excitement, the new experience of a scouting a new area still giving him a small high. Higher, higher, and higher still until he peeked out of the top of the tree. Grabbing a innocent little morsel of an acorn, the small Sentret gazed out into the landscape. He felt amazing. A king among pokemon! That had a nice ring to it. Him, thought to be weak in comparison to others, a king who's power would be unmatched.

Feeling cocky and fully of himself, the young Sentret tossed up the acorn. Watching it float up into the air he waited to catch it in his teeth. However, he misjudged the distance and it ended up hitting him in the forehead. With a startled cry, he suddenly slipped in his surprise. He had just enough time to realize that this wasn't going to end well before falling. With multiple thwacks, bonks, and omphs the Sentret fell all the way back down to the ground. Luckily there had been plenty of branches to slow his decent.

With a final omph, less hurt and more out of it, he tried to focus...Wait, what was that delicious smell. Curiosity compelling him, he soon stumbled upon this massive plant thingie with a girl. Was this a bad thing? Okay, think back to what his parents talked about...Uhm...When in doubt look cute! Wait, would that even work?

The success was evident, and the proof came even sooner than expected, for a wild Sentret had appeared, curiosity compelled to check out the sweet scent of Mega's flowers, and stumbled onto their path. This was a fateful day for this poor Sentret, for, it's life was about to change... "A Sentret!" Crystal exclaimed suddenly, her hands going into fists as if she were preparing for a big fight. "I already caught one back in Johto, but I should catch one for Professor Pine too!" So the Sentret's fate was sealed. It probably didn't know, but with those words, it should have just given up with out a fight. It probably would have, if it had known that the trainer it had stumbled upon the Legendary Catcher. "Mega, Razor Leaf!" Oh that poor, poor Sentret. Crystal wasted no time, and ordered the fatal attack on the little raccoon pokemon, or whatever it was. Also excited as well to begin catching pokemon right away, Mega obeyed, flinging sharpened leaves like razors at the Sentret. o o c || w o r d s || 185 t a g s || mod~!

They stared at him and frankly while the little critter did want to wow them with his amazing skills and such he could only perform one action toward them in his confused surprise. He stared back. Then he shook himself out of his stupor, finally realizing that the massive plant creature before him was way out of his league. He chattered in absolute fear and tried to think quickly. Look cute! And try as he might, he remembered back to how his father had taught everything he knew to him as a fresh hatching. Widen the eyes, bring the paws forward innocently, look meek and weak. He was extremely successful in his own opinion. However this didn't seem to phase the duo before him. Their response was to send a gale of leaves that could cut apart solid rock.

The sentret was ashamed to admit he wet himself a bit. But luckily he was in his big pokemon fur, so there was a good chance they wouldn't notice. The real problem was still the leaves of death the were closing the distance with frightening speed. Fearing for his small and astoundingly short life. He dove to the ground even as the blades passed around him from all sides and nicked his fur. Small streams of blood oozed from the fresh cuts, but he ducked down and curled into a ball even as the tree behind him was torn into splinters. Pitifully, he let out a wail of fear. Having dodged the attack he looked up and quickly decided to use the most secret and ancient technique he knew. Passed down in his family for generations the technique abolutely could not fail.

RUN AWAY! RUN AWAY! He picked himself up and made a mad dash for anywhere that would be as far away from here as possible. However, it wasn't to be. A branch above groaned in protest at having it's supports so ruthlessly sliced up. With a loud sound of cracking wood giving, it fell. And bashed the Sentret squarely in the back of the head as it finally moved. Darkness claimed the creature as it rolled to a limp stop along the ground. His sacred technique had failed!

But once she put her Catching Pokemon mind set on, she wasn't afraid to be merciless. She had been capturing pokemon for so long now, it was all pretty much just muscle memory. Without wasting a single moment, she had a pokeball in her hand. Mega just smiled, knowing exactly how the drill went. Crystal dropped the pokeball, caught it on the top of her foot, and all in one move, kicked it. The pokeball whipped through the air with just about the same speed and ferocity that Mega's razor sharp leaves had, and hit the sentret square in the center of the white ring on its stomach. "Capture successful!" Crystal exclaimed as she always did, confidence in her voice while she clenched her fist in victory. Immediately, after picking up the pokeball, she went ahead and sent it to her PC. She would have to send it onward to Professor Pine later. o o c || Leap! in this rp, does Crystal have her handy dandy pokemon portable transfer thingy? I'll have to ask you that next time I see you in the chat box >< Ooooh wow I guess I should go find a pokemon that can learn false swipe xD that would have pretty much cut the sentret up into pieces... w o r d s || 160 t a g s || mod~!

What was all of this nonsense? The distruption of the peace, the slaughter of the local Pokemon... Whatever the answer was, it was almost sickening. It was obvious that a number of the wild Pokemon in the area felt the same, though not a single one decided to leap into action to assist their fallen commrad. And why wouldn't they? Didn't they care for the poor Sentret that had been throught out of its tree, beaten to a pulp, and then ensalved in the item known as a Pokemon? Well perhaps they did. However, there was just... one tiny thing that held them all back from assissting.

That Meganium. A cheerful looking creature with a flower around its neck usually wouldn't be all that threatening in the eyes of another. However, when that creature was almost two times the height of it's human owner and about five times the size of everything else that lived on that route, it was a little difficult not to fear it. In addition, it'd managed to lay waste to a Pokemon in one measly attack - one that creature had only taken some of the blow from. Every other Pocket Monster on that route was, essentially, dead where they stood. That didn't stop one, however, from attemtping the feat of taking down the beast... single handedly.

The element of surprise would be the Poochyena's genius strategy. Sneak up from behind and take the enemy down before it even noticed your presence. He was already in position for the attack, hidden carefully in the landscape and not moving a muscle so that neither the Pokemon nor its trainer knew it was there, lurking just beyond sight. He'd slip out undetected, not rustling a leaf in the process, and take out the grass-type in one swift blow. Of course, things didn't always go as planned and, instead of slipping out stealthily, the dark-type tripped over a branch and went stumbling face first into the ground.

(Gah! Gotta make my move 'fore it attacks!) Flailing wildly, the dog-like creature leapt to his feet and, baring his teeth, expected to feel his teeth bite into the Pokemon's flesh in the form of a Bite attack. (How do ya' like that, huh? Not so weak, are we?)

What drove her on with out hesitating or holding back was the absolute need for success. She did her job, capturing pokemon only with the expectation of nothing but success, and succeeding at her job made her happier than almost anything else. She wasn't too worried about scaring away all the other pokemon, since Megaree's sweet scent should have been sufficient enough to give the other pokemon a reason to show themselves. Besides, she was only looking to capture one of each type of pokemon that could be found here at Route 1. Crystal and Mega both turned their heads abruptly, hearing a rustle and a thump as a Poochyena appeared and fell over, nose-diving into the ground. Mega had leaned down curiously to look closer at the Poochyena, but in seconds, found out that the rambunctious pup was lively enough to jump up and clamp its small pair of jaws onto the plant dinosaur's nose! Megaree threw back his head with a cry of surprise. It wasn't like the pup was strong enough to hurt Mega too badly, but being bit on the nose hurt more than the damage it did. Poochyena was known for being a bite pokemon, and it showed that trait, as the spirited poochyena held on fast, even in the initial momentum of Mega swinging his head back the first time, and flicking his head again a second time. "Mega! Use Body Slam with your head!" Crystal commanded her pokemon with all confidence. Mega ducked his head toward the ground, and slammed the Poochyena into the ground, crying, "MeGAnium!(Take THAT!)" o o c || Meganium used Body Slam w o r d s || 279 t a g s || mod~!
