(Venipede searching)
So, this was the forest, huh? Oblivia seemed to have bigger forests with more Pokemon, but this region would do. At least, for now. Rhoan was ready to move on to bigger and better things, but as a starting out trainer with a fresh Pokemon meant A, she needed to train it up, and B, she needed to catch more. However, she did seem to luck out with the Pokemon she'd obtained. A Dark type with a questionable power, the ability to change her shape at will in an illusion. This was stable until she was attacked, then she went to her true form.
True form?
What is a true form? Rhoan was born ahuman, but felt that this gijinka she was now was her true form. fate wanted her to meet the Black Shiloh that day, and make her become what she was now. The Black Thief was here, and was about to make a splash. When she was able. For now? Stalking about in attempts to catch the Pokemon she wanted. Tyrana, we're going in. Rhoan commanded. The Zoroark understood human speech, just as Rhoan could understand Pokemon. Neither could speak the other though. At least they'd be able to communicate. But what if I don't want to? Tyrana asked with a wry smile. Rhoan shot her a look and raised an eyebrow. Because I told you so. That's why. She purred in response. Tyrana couldn't help but admire her new master's ambition.
It was the start of a lovely friendship. [/blockquote]

Soft vibrations came from above. Sounds of steps reverberating through the moist soil caught the attention of a small sleeping pokemon. A pokemon...no two pokemon had wandered into its sleeping grounds, its territory. It almost laughed to itself as the stepped right over him unaware. Then waiting a moment for them to go a bit further he crept up to the surface. In the shadows of the forest he thrived and this was his territory where he knew the insides and outs of everything. It would almost be unfair to them. However, he would see how they handled themselves. He might even toy with them a bit if they were good. Now, a person would find what happened next odd. The pokemon had the element of surprise, but instead of capitalizing on it, it let out a loud chatter. Eyes far off and near opened. Feeding time. Now he just had to stall until they got close enough to overrun these two. So he curled tightly into a ball, closing the gaps in his defense before they could even think to attack. Favorite Color? Black. Red. Favorite dessert? ... Vanilla bean Cheesecake. ... Whatever that is, now.
The conversation pressed on like this as the two trekked through the forest, bored as hell. If hell were boring, that is. You'd think a forest full of bug Pokemon would produce something... you know, like a Pokemon? The gijinka huffed impatiently, clicking her nails together. The Zoroark was about to agree, but then a sound reached their ears. Tyrana was surprised to see the ears of the trainer perk up at the same time as hers. She had barely noticed they were there due to being the same color as her hair... Interesting.
Not as interesting as that sound, though. Both trainer and Pokemon spun around to see the Venipede behind them, cackling about to itself about something as it pressed itself together into a tight little ball, raising it's defense. The Zoroark looked back at Rhoan before getting into an offensive stance. Rhoan's lips rose to a smirk, revealing sharp canine teeth. Yeah, now we're talking. Let's try a Night Daze on it. If it don't knock it out, at least maybe it'll bump down some accuracy. She grinned, trying the battle from all sides.
This battle style was different than Oblivia, who didn't use Pokeballs. Instead, Rangers were the only ones who possessed the equipment. But around here, Pokemon were scattered like flys just waiting to be swatted by a trainer or two, and then confined into tiny balls for stasis and easy movement. How convienent. Rhoan waited, eyes zoning in on the Venipede. Perhaps this would be the first instance hearing a wild Pokemon converse. Well, if it could at least.

The venipede never stood a chance. It was completely outmatched. the opponent being a second stage pokemon, older and more experienced, while he was nothing more than a fresh larva. Sure, he had his fair share of battle just trying to survive in the bug eat bug world of this forest, but that wouldn't cut it here. Curled tightly in a ball it tried to go for a roll out, in fact, he actually managed to progress into the first stage before they could do anything. However, it was too slow on the uptake. Just as he started spinning and gathering speed, about to lurch forward with momentum, a wave of darkness slammed into him and threw him back. He unrolled himself, having lost consciousness moments after he rolled to a stop on the ground. His defeat didn't stop the sounds from growing louder. Something or somethings were quickly approaching the battle site. The question was, would the duo attempt to face down the threat or just catch this pokemon and make a run for it to lower the chance of risk. The sounds were getting quicker, and hadn't been made by the Pokemon before them. Even though Tyrana had stifled it, the sounds were still coming, which meant something was on it's way. A little trickle of fear rose to Tyrana's eyes, but with a quick glance from Rhoan it disappeared. Whatever is coming sounds big. I think we'll stay here, alright? That okay with you? She asked, a hint of ice in her voice. Tyrana wouldn't say no either way, but the promise of something big to fight with seemed to fuel both of them.
Her sharp nails dug about in her bag for a Pokeball. The capsule was now in her hand, and she rolled it towards the Venipede, sucking it into the ball without cry or protest. She picked it up after it was finished with it's rolling, and pocketed it, allowing it to stasis in the pokeball. The sounds continued to grow louder, especially to Rhoan with her sharp hearing. Whatever it is... we'll take it down! [/blockquote]

Two sets of eyes were already among the battle. They had been near when the battle started. Very near. It hadn't taken them long to find a branch that would serve as a good vantage point. However, they didn't join. Odd, since the Venipede had called for help. No, there was one pokemon among the duo that was too careful of thought to just barge in without warning. And was a good thing he didn't too because he might have suffered the same fate that the Venipede had just moments ago. There was no way they'd be able to match that dark monster in terms of pure strength. So he thought carefully with the instincts that came with years in the wild. He wouldn't have survived long with that venipede's mindset or been able to gain a follower. "Hey, hey, can we get 'em now?" If he could sigh, he would have. She was a cute thing and frightenly strong for her species. She would have even served as a good mate given a bit of maturity. But, as of now, she was still younger than he and shared the lack of tack similar to the venipede. However, she would serve a purpose and if they got out alive then they'd be set. If she died or got captured...well, hopefully he wouldn't share the fate. "Wait for my signal." He murmured back. He could hear her mutter in aggravation about "him and his capterpie fears", but he just liked to play it safe. So he mustered up his muscles and slinked closer until he was close enough to get a clear shot. Then he gathered up the fine silk he had in his stores and let loose a good string shot straight at the pokemon's feet. That'd show it. Even the wild could be devious when pushed far enough. He quickly dropped to the ground and got ready for another attack even as his partner lunged from her own perch at the pokemon, aiming to poison it with a vicious sting. This was how they took down enemies stronger than them. Slow it down, poison it, and wear it down. The moves had yet to fail them yet. Rhoan's attention was now divided. She'd just captured a Pokemon with a bit of promise. She wanted to heal it, but right now was not the time. Nor did she have the supplies. Can't have a soldier down, Rhaego. She talked to the ball, and put it in her pocket. But then, her ears perked up again at the sound of something attacking the Zoroark. Tyrana's legs were wrapped in some kind of string, useful idea for Rhoan to think about next time, and two little Pokemon were quickly descending down a tree to their little duo. Two on one? That's not fair... However. I can fix that.
Tyrana, get up. Rhoan commanded, pointing a sharp nail at the fox pokemon, who cut the string at her feet with her own sharp claws. Granted, she'd be a bit slower. It wouldn't be anything that would define the battle, though. Even with her slowed status, she'd still prove to be faster than these little worms. Good girl. Tyrana, Night Daze on the intruder, please. She said, glaring at the Wurmple ahead. Hopefully she'd knock it out in one go like she had been.

"Watch out, he wasn't poisoned!" The Wurmple cried out to his partner. This creature, whatever it was, was hardier than the Wurmple first thought. There weren't many creatures in the forest that could just get up like nothing happened after that combination. There were even less who were not poisoned on the first attack. The pokemon squirmed to closer, desperate for his voice to reach his friend, but she didn't seem to hear him. Brashly, she lunged again. Straight into the attack that had taken down the Venipede before them. The Wurmple cried out once more as she was struck with enough dark power to force the air from her body and knock her out cold. "Leave her alone, you stinkin' mutt!" The Wurmple threw himself at the larger pokemon in fury. Thrashing about on the creature's back he brought his stinger up high before stabbing it deep. He'd make this thing pay! The Wurmple could feel the poison trickle from his stinger and into the pokemon. Dislodging the appendage, he pushed off and cried in triumph! Then scurried quickly over to his fallen comrade. They'd have to go through him first if they wanted her. A sliver of doubt crossed his mind though. He couldn't take this thing on without help and even then the changes were slim. He didn't know if he'd be able to last long enough for the poison to take full effect. The first worm Pokemon was down without a count. Luckily for Tyrana, the one out of five chance she was poisoned had been bypassed. Rhoan did have to be on her toes though. Who knew what these little poisonous Pokemon could do? Finish it off, quick. Night Daze again on the remaining one left. The order was given, and it was to be obeyed. As she charged the worm, it let out another poison sting. Perhaps to avenge it's fallen comrade? Who knows. Tyrana didn't, and she didn't care either. She was lucky once more, the poison merely slid down her fur instead of tainting her bloodstream.
Her claws were covered in black as she prepared to strike any way she could. Rhoan drug her attention to the fainted Pokemon. It knew a poison move, but then again, so did Rhaego. The trainer had no interest in these two Pokemon, even though they were brave enough to challenge them. Don't worry about not hurting them, I don't want either. She confessed, bored with the whole situation. I'd like to heal up Rhaego and continue on with what we were doing.

The Wurmple backed up warily as the other pokemon's eyes stared into his soul. Only the downed comrade behind him kept him in front of the creature. He wanted to flee or attack or anything, but the way that dog pokemon eyed him made his spine freeze. It shouldn't be this strong. It should have at least showed some kind of discomfort from the poison he'd injected. However, try as he might to see if the poison had hit the creature's bloodstream there were no clues of that having happened. Terrified, he realized that it wasn't going to happen either. Losing what will he had left, he just slumped over his partner, covering her body with his. Maybe he'd go to a nice bug haven. Either way, he'd protect his friend even if it cost his life. And that was the last thought that crossed his mind as the attack washed over him. Now both pokemon were down and out, but something in the forest had gotten closer. Something big and powerful, if the menacing roar that sounded nearby was anything to go by. 'Ugh! More work to do, it's never ending!' Armaldo said to himself. Speaking to himself was becoming a rather frequent thing he would do. Being the 'Monster of Yami Forest' he was like the guardian of the forest, he had to protect all the pokemon that inhabited the area. It just so happened a messenger Ledyba had come to visit him, with bad news to tell. Once Armaldo had heard many of the residents of Yami Forest had gone missing he broke a tree by hitting one arm solidly against a medium sized tree. Usually he would contain his anger, but this was serious. The humans were coming into the forest to kill the residents or to take them with them. This had to stop as soon as possible. Armaldo had just witnessed something he wish he hadn't. It peeved him off after watching a human that looked to be in a Weavile form. What was this blasphemy. A human was able to change form into a pokemon, was it magic or was this all a dream. Armaldo hit himself across the head to make sure it was all real, and it most certainly was. The shape-shifting human had killed off two young Wurmple's with no care in the world, then she proceeded to capture the pokemon inside of a pokeball. This wasn't the first time he had witnessed an event like this though, but after hearing the bad news and watching it first hand he knew what he had to do. Kill the human shape-shifter. Armaldo came out of hiding and stood a few mere meters from the Zoroark and her human partner and said, "You have two options, one get out of my forest now and never return or two, I kill you as you stand. Choose wisely. I've seen what you humans and your partner's have been doing in my forest and it needs to stop"Armaldo [Monster of Yami Forest] Male Battle Armour / Level 40 Water Gun | Scratch | Harden | Metal Claw HP: 100/100 [Not Able to be Caught]

The presence of something powerful was approaching, due to the roar, and Tyrana and Rhoan were going to witness the monster first hand. The creature was powerful, and certainly not happy with them. It lumbered over like it owned the place, probably it's territory anyways, and started to snarl about staying in the forest too long, or something along those lines. Rhoan gave a Weavile hiss and rolled her eyes. Oh just shut yer gob. We're going. Fine. She growled. Tyrana, surprised, glanced over at her trainer in wonder, was something wrong? She never backed down from a fight.
However, the trainer had a glint in her eye. Most certainly one of mischief. Though, oh great monster of the forest... I find it amusing that you don't like us here, when we're starting out. We're sorry you feel threatened... She teased, snapping her teeth to make a clicking sound. Tyrana caught on and let out a chuckle as they turned. We'll be back, Armaldo. And we'll kill you where you stand. Don't wait up. She laughed, exiting with Tyrana in tow.
