Zephyr felt excited knowing he was now officially a Pokemon Trainer. He had received a starter pack and a Scraggy to start his journey with. Scraggy let itself out of the pokeball in Zephyr's hand, it seemed as though it wasn't comfortable in a confined place like the pokeball. Zephyr observed the Scraggy from head to toe, he was pleased that Professor Pine had allowed him to choose Scraggy as his partner. Zephyr fidgeted with his camera for a few moments before saying, "You seem like a cool little dude. I'm Zephyr. Now you need a name, how about Buster."Scraggy listened closely to his trainer, he was known as Zephyr. Buster was his new name, it sounded cool and he felt it suited him. Buster couldn't understand why humans couldn't just call pokemon by their species instead of nicknaming them. Buster looked around the lush area known as Route One. Their was a dirt path that connected Vardent Town and Yami's Forest, and Zephyr was more concerned with testing out Buster the Scraggy's skills in the art of battling, then he would be able to assess whether he needed training or not. Even if Buster was used to battling he would get some training on something on the route so he would be the toughest Scraggy around. Zephyr grabbed his camera and focused it on Scraggy. 'Snap'. That was the first of many photos of Buster to come. Zephyr continued to fidget with his camera while allowing Buster to keep a keen eye on the area for anything interesting going on.

She could do this. She knew she could. Now if only the darn berry would cooperate with her! It just refused to stop being so heavy and deliciously plump! Oh how this pokemon's luck had turned out to be bittersweet. To get a better grasp ment breaking and scratching it up and that might let the juicy flavor be lost. Yet, with the difficult grip she carried it with it put a strain to her claws and wings. However, despite the berry in her grasp giving the pokemon the hardest time, she refused to just drop it. The Pidgey had worked hard to find that the scrumptious morsel. All she wanted to do is fly to her nest and enjoy it in relative peace. But first she needed a breather. Just a bit of down time to catch a second wind. So determined on the berry, the Pidgey hadn't quite taken in her surroundings. And as she swooped closer for, looking for a good landing spot, the berry had finally had enough rough housing. It slipped from her grip and fell to the ground. The Pidgey could only cryout with every fiber of her being helplessly. There was no way she'd be able to make the dive to save it. PIDGEY!~ (NOOOOOO!~) With a squelching sound it splattered into pulp right next to a human and his pokemon. A single tear leaked out of one of her eyes as she hovered in the air. That dear berry, how she had barely knew it. Then she spotted them and how they didn't respect the loss of such a grand meal. The Pidgey let out an fierce squawk in the air. Enraged by the unfortunate happenings and at having no other outlet she sudden zeroed in on the Scraggly. It was that pokemon's fault! It had been jealous of her berry meal! Jumping to conclusions, the bird pokemon made a dive straight for the pokemon intent of tackling it. Splat! A berry fell from above and Zephyr just happened to notice how it had happened. A Pidgey had been trying to get it as a meal, but luck wasn't in her favor at the time. Zephyr felt sorry for the Pidgey, although Buster was a different persona altogether, he felt like pointing and laughing at the Pidgey. Zephyr ignored the sad looking Pidgey and continued fidgeting with his camera. Buster ended up at Zephyr's feet, from what it looked like the Pidgey must have tackled the Scraggy. That wasn't a smart move in any means. Buster hadn't fought another pokemon before, but his anger was rising as he felt embarrassed that he had been attacked by a crazy bird. Although Buster was struggling to contain his anger, he knew the best thing he could do was obey his trainer's orders. Zephyr wasn't happy about Buster being tackled for no reason, or at least he thought that was the story he would believe. Pidgey seemed to have a few small tears dripping off her face, for heaven's sake it was only a berry. Buster couldn't understand what they had done wrong to anger the Pidgey, either way the bird pokemon was going to be taught a lesson. Zephyr took a few deep breath's and then said, "Buster, don't worry about the Pidgey, she seems mentally unstable, let's put her out of her misery with a Faint Attack."Zephyr had studied up on Buster's move-set, and he know for a given fact that Faint Attack would never miss. Perfect. Buster smirked towards Pidgey before he dashed at the opponent in lightning fast speed, if all went well like it should be then Buster would kick the bird pokemon with both leg's and hopefully catch the bird pokemon off guard. ((Note: I'm pretty sure that the pokemon gains a level in the post after it performs an action, not during or before as it has to actually be fighting to gain experience in the rules. It will elevate to level 11 in your following post so I calculated the attack as if it was done from him if he was level 10 still.)) The pidgey crashed into the other pokemon with reckless abandon. She took pride in how her tackle threw the creature back. That would teach it to waste her hard earned meal. The bird pokemon had to flap her wings extra hard to recover from the attack. Keeping air born she circled back to gain a bit more distance. This turned out to be a mistake, however, as she let the duo out of her keen sense of sight. It was just a moment, but that moment was enough for them to recover quikcly. Coming face to face once more, she was greeted with the sight of something odd. The other pokemon had disappeared! Or at least, that's what she thought until she was suddenly blindsided by a shadow sneaking up from her blind spot. She cried out and a few feather drifted to the ground as she struggled to stay airborne once more. For the first time since this had started she the thought that this might not have been a good idea entered her mind. However, she had already started this and now she would be forced to follow through. Besides, she was too stubborn to just back down and run away. So using all the strength in her wings, she kicked up a mighty blast of wind and sent it straight at the other pokemon. [Note: Thanks Will for reminding me, I'm just not used to leveling up in a battle, I'm more of the after a battle level up style.] Zephyr hadn't expected Buster to suddenly disappear while using Faint Attack, it was a sight to watch as only Scraggy knew where he was going whilst he was basically invisible. Pidgey was caught well off guard as a few loose feathers fell off her body and she begun to fall from the air. She kept herself airborne though. Zephyr was surprised how resilient the Pidgey was. Quickly the bird type pokemon recovered and started angrily at Buster and Zephyr, it looked as though she wanted to keep fighting, Scraggy knew he was alright with more fighting, after one move he wanted more. Pidgey begun to flap her wings vigorously with all the strength in her wings as they created a small cyclone which was about the size of Scraggy. She then launched the move known as Gust towards Buster, and it was on a collision course with him. Zephyr had no intention of telling his pokemon to dodge the attack, a key way to getting stronger was to endure times of pain and hardship. Buster begun to worry as the attacked drew closer, was he going to die, why wasn't Zephyr telling him to move out of the way. With a scared mind-set Buster crouched up into a ball like shape as the cyclone picked him up of the ground and sent him flying behind Zephyr. Buster's leg's and arms felt stiff, the pressure of the gust attack had definitely caused some pain to him. Zephyr felt like an ass letting Buster take a blow like that, but it was for his own sake. Now he could unleash his anger out that he would have on his trainer onto the wild but feisty Pidgey. Zephyr waited until Buster was on his feet and ready before he said, "I'm Sorry Buster for letting you take the blow like that, I felt it would help you understand what pain is like and help you strengthen yourself. Now, let's finish Pidgey with a Faint Attack."[/b] Buster understood human's tongue, and what his trainer had said all made sense if you thought about it enough. With that in mind he felt forgiving to his partner, they were in this together. Buster the Scraggy could see Pidgey seemed re-rejuvenated and was smiling after watching him take a hit like that. Buster was going to wipe that smile of her face as he begun to dash at the bird type pokemon with lightning speed. Like before though, he disappeared. No one could see the Scraggy anymore until he decided it was the right time to attack. Leer | Low-Kick | Sand-Attack | Faint Attack Gender: Male / Level: 11 HP: 37/50 Buster was hit by Gust. (No problem. I got your back~ ) Forcing the whirling blast of wind toward the other pokemon, the Pidgey felt the beginnings of fatigue set in. The attack from before must have did more damage than she thought. She had felt winded before even starting her gust, but not she struggled to get air into her lungs. It was a chore and her breast burned from the exertion. Her heart hammered just as hard as her wings a few moments ago, but unlike them it didn't slow after the attack. Her gust still slammed into the unmoving pokemon and it made her want to crow in triumph, but it became lodged in her throat when the pokemon stood up. Worse for wear, but still fighting strong. The bird didn't know how much more longer she could force herself to fight. She kept her keen eyes locked onto the Scraggy though. It wouldn't disappear from her sight again! But it was futile. The fact that it had disappeared wasn't so much her distraction at the time as it was him actually fading from view. The attack still startled the Pidgey even though she'd seen it moments before. Knowing what was to come next, she shook away her surprise and made to take into the air as far out of reach as possible. Her wings strained, but took her no higher. Then another strike slammed into her and threw her back against the ground where she crumpled weakly. She had lost, there was no more strength left in her. Darkness edged into the sides of her vision before claiming her in a peaceful oblivion. Tackle | Sand Attack | Gust Gender: Female / Level: 6 HP: 0/30 Wild Pidgey was struck by Faint Attack! Buster was playing mind games with the Pidgey, she couldn't see him anymore and seemed to be in a state of worried shock. Quickly the bird pokemon tried to resort to escaping into the air, but Buster was already ready to take her down. The connection between Scraggy's head and the Pidgey's body sent the bird pokemon flying backwards, she hit the ground hard as she lay still. Zephyr and Buster looked at the finished Pidgey, she had made the wrong choice by attacking them. Zephyr watched as Pidgey's eyes closed slowly, no movement from the bird pokemon what so ever. Buster smirked towards Pidgey, she deserved the beating he had just given her. Zephyr grabbed his camera off his chest and pointed it towards Pidgey, he took a few pictures at different angles. Zephyr and Buster would always be able to remember their first triumph in battle together in their mind, but they could also remember in image form. Buster felt exhausted. Pidgey had definitely given him a good stint, but the feeling of winning against another pokemon in a battle was priceless for the happy Scraggy. He felt like saying 'Feed Me More' like a vicious animal. Zephyr walked over to Buster and they looked at each other for a few moments, recognizing they were happy to be together they then proceeded along down the dirt path which would lead from route one to Yami Forest. Soon they would enter the forest, but that time wasn't yet. [END] Leer | Low-Kick | Sand-Attack | Faint Attack Gender: Male / Level: 11 HP: 37/50
