"You know, Epona, if you squint your eyes and tilt your head at a fourty-five degree angle, you can see little people in between the lines of text of a newspaper."
Perhaps that wasn't true. Truth be told, "perhaps" was not the right word. Rather, it wasn't true, being able to see small people trapped within the confines of a two-dimentional world. But this certain male was one who had a habit of stretching the truth to his whim and will. Statements like this were so common, it was only a matter of time before another one escped the confines of his mouth. Oh, those poor Pokemon that were trapped in his possession, forced to listen to his false preachings day in and day out.
Sadly, they were beginning to believe him.
The time? Early morning. Early morning. Not eight, nine, maybe ten o'clock in the morning when the sun has already risen to a fairly decent height in the sky. No, this was four or five o'clock when the sun was just barely over the horizon, if not present at all. The place? Hardly even a mile out of the tiny, overlooked village of Chisai Village. In fact, if one were to squint their eyes from the distance where a lone figure stood, they could see the tiny homes and huts of the residents that lived there. Why was he there? Well, there was no particular reason for someone of the man's status to be in such a place. Truthfully, there was no specific reasoning behind his presence. A wanderer went where the wind will him or her to go and it seemed the wind beckoned him to this one, certain place.
Chisai Village.
Garett had nothing to do, to be quite honest. He'd just wrapped up another successful mission in no time flat - if he kept at the rate he was going, perhaps a promotion was not all to far away - and was spending his free time wandering here and there as he awaited word from Team Imum for his next assignment. It tore at his heart strings to see innocent people die before his eyes... But, if he wanted to destroy the rest of the organization, this was necessary. A handful of lives did not compare to the thousands that would suffer otherwise. He didn't have to enjoy it, however. It was just all a part of the act.
"Epona, girl," the green-clothed man cooed, stroking the horse-like creature's neck, careful to avoid the flame, "Do you... think it's worth it? A confused look sparked the Ponyta's face at this remark. A sort of nah sound escaped it's mouth in the form of the question, "I beg your pardon?" To this, her master laughed, patting her gently on the head. "You know, this whole... double agent stuff. Does saving all these people really justify my killing of innocents?" All he recieved as an answer was a worried expression and the slightest bit of a snort from his partner. A weak chuckle escaped his mouth, though it held no joy behind it. "Well, just think of all the people who'll get to actually live once I've done my job."
Of course, there was one factor needed to be taken into consideration.
Would he be able to complete his mission? And, no, not one of those stupid assignments he was given by the executives and sometimes Nymah herself. He was talking about his goal to destroy Team Imum from the inside out. After all, he was only one person up against scores of evil doers who wouldn't show him mercy if they found out he was a traitor. They had the means, they had the methods, but no one was trying to stop them.
And that's were he came in.
I just hope... he thought somewhat bitterly, that I can do something, anything to put this madness to an end...

"She crawled under the table" 'He could see she was unable' "So she ran into the bedroom" She was struck down, it was her doom
Leaf had been sent to meet up with Garett in Chisai Village by an upper member someone above even her. She was tired it had to be like four in the morning. Couldn't they let her wait a couple more hours at least? Ugh Leaf was so not a morning person. She absolutely hating getting up so early. Walking into the travel area she gave her orders to one of the grunts there. They quickly gave her a Charmander to ride to the village. At her side was her Lucario named Riot and on her shoulder was her Chatot named Chatter. She quickly called them back and slipped them to her pack than climbed onto the charizard. Two large doors swung open and the charizard took off. The flight was quick and smooth.
Finally she arrived to the area. The scanned the town and the area around it looking for Garett. They finally found him barely a mile out of town to the east. Leaf leaned forward as they dove forward. At the last moment it opened it's wings to slow itself down and landed literally right next to Garett. She wasn't sure but she thought maybe one of the wings might have clipped him or his ponyta. Like she cared though. Jumping down she reached into her pocket and grabbed a treat for the Charizard. "Stay in the area but out of site. I want to make this as quick as possible." With that she tossed the treat in the air. The charizard snapped it up and took off and disappeared in the clouds.
Leaf reached into her pack and grabbed both poke'balls. Tossing them both into the air. Chatot landed on her shoulder and gave her a squawk. "Chatter head for the town and report to me with anything you hear that could be of importance. Riot make sure no one is around for half a mile to hear us that includes any other chatot's besides Chatter." Both pokemon took off. Leaf waited until they disappeared in the distance before turning and speaking to Garett for the first time. "As soon as Riot returns I want to know what was oh so important that I needed to get out of bed so damn early for. I was ordered by an Executive to come and meet up with you a sap. But yet I was given no excuse or any other info. So this better be good Garett.
She was in a bad mood and the Hyde side of her was in control. It wanted to rip him in half and shred him to pieces for making her get up so early. Leaf's green eyes where hardened with anger.
Just than she spotted Riot running towards her at top speed. "Nothing to report the closest humans or pokemon to us are all in the town sleeping where safe to talk." Riot knew Leaf was furious and right now he was glad he wasn't Garett. Even if he was an elite Leaf had been around longer and had a slightly higher position than him. She had proven her trust worthy over and over again through out the years. Evan when the good side of her took over it didn't take control for long before Hyde took over again.

"You know, I think this whole thing's kind of stupid."
A very wise man once was said to have quoted, "with great power comes great responsibility". It is very true, in all honesty. If one has a new found power, without responsibility, who is to say that they will not abuse these powers or be corrupted afterwards? The line, perhaps, can also be used to describe the situation one certain male was in. No, not the power that corrupts, but the pressure that said power may result in. It was difficult for him, a good-natured young fellow, to have to lie to every person around him, friend or foe. To have to hurt innocent civilians only to protect his identity. To have to work alone in fear of dragging anyone down with him into the deepest, darkest corners of the abyss that awaited him if he slipped up.
And, under such pressure, a slip up was bound to happen.
How could he face such a problem? Perhaps there was no real way to. Perhaps he had to face it head on and cross his fingers, hoping that he didn't stumble and fall along the way. Already, he could feel an outstreached leg just begging for him to trip over, sending him tumbling down to his fate. But... what was his fate? This was what bothered him the most. What would happen if he could no longer stand the horrors of working as a double agent inside enemy lines? Would he simply have his secret found out, being murdered brutally for all the members of Team Imum to bear witnesses to? Or was it what he was more afraid of? That the leader, Nymah, had been right about him after all?
That he the part of him that wanted revenge would cause him to join the organization for real, not just to take them down from the inside...?
whatever it was - the destiny that awaited him at the end of the road - he could never be sure. However, for then, he'd brush it off with a weak smile and tired laugh, telling himself that those were thoughts to be concieved at a later date. Maybe it was this idea, that he'd worry about what would happen to him when it happened to him and no sooner, was what would be the cause of his downfall. Of course, he'd just push that thought off for a later date as well, would he not? But that is all beside the point because - he may have a bit of truth to his words - those were matters to be dealt with later. At that point in time, something of more significance than thinking about the future was going on.
Because someone very important was about to come into play.
"This whole, you know, "we're gonna wipe out the human race" thing?" Garett explained when a confused glance from Epona was thrown his way. Perhaps what made him so enjoyable to talk to was his hand gestures. The way his gloved hands swayed back and forth in a mesmorizing fashion only added to his colorful personality. Of course, using such hand movements while riding on the back of his loyal stead was probably not the greatest of ideas. Mainly because he'd almost fallen off three times that day - actually came toppling over twice - and adding another to the list wasn't exactly sounding to pleasant. How did he manage to stay on the horse-like creatures back without getting burned to a crisp, you might wonder? Well, months of practice had allowed her to manipulate the flames on her back so her rider could, well, ride on her without having a warm bottom for the next few weeks.
"Maybe this... was a bad idea, girl" the blonde said solemnly, blue gaze falling to the ground and willing his Pokemon to skid to a halt. "Am I really cut out for all of this -" However, whatever he was about to say was cut off abruptly as a dark mass formed in the sky. At first, he squinted, lifting his trade-mark goggles from his eyes to get a better view. He could not tell what it was at first - only that it was heading toward him and that it was... That mass was a... "Gah! he shouted, nearly falling off of Epona and clinging to said female in fear. "I-it's a... bird! No! I'm to young to die! Don't let it touch me, girl! It's got rabbies or something, I'm sure! It's gonna kill me! Rip me to shreds and eat me for lunch!" The horse fell into a defensive pose as her master threw himself into yet another spazz attack, this time, courtesy of the flying-type before them. Whatever caused his fear of flying-types, no one would ever be sure. However, one thing was certain - Whenever he came into contact with one, he acted as though it was the end of the world.
The Ponyta tensed when she caught sight of the person riding the blob - a Charizard, she also noted. Another Team Imum member. Garett took notice and, swallowing his fears, straightened up. "Oi," he muttered, preparing his "mask" so the newcomer would not suspect his secret. "That's... one big dragon..." Though the beast scared the crud out of him, he managed to harden his expression into a glare and slipped into character almost as easily as ever. When the newcomer - a female - landed, though the orange creature's wings missed his head by a hair, the force of it's beating winds sent the male toppling off of his own ride. "Wha-" His protest was cut off as he landed with an oof.
"Stay in the area, but out of site," the girl was saying, handing the Charizard a treat. "I want to make this as quick as possible." Wh-what? I get thrown off my horse by her stupid dragon, and she rewards it? Stupid person with her stupid bird and her stupid landing skills and her stupid - His thoughts were cut off as more words tumbled from the brunette's mouth. "Chatter head for the town and report to me with anything you hear that could be of importance. Riot make sure no one is around for half a mile to hear us that includes any other chatot's besides Chatter," she was saying. However, he hardly payed any attention at all to that. His thoughts were focused on getting up from the ground and trying to recognize who this rude trainer was.
Oh, yes. He remembered her.
Leaf Daniels.
Quite unstable personality-wise, if he recalled. Though, before any more ideas could grace her mind, her hard, green stare had landed on him. He held back his flinch. "As soon as Riot returns I want to know what was oh so important that I needed to get out of bed so dang early for," she demanded, acting as though it was his fault that she'd awoken at such an early hour. He hadn't even gotten to sleep that night! He was to busy on missions and trying to find an actual place to sleep to actually rest in bed. She had no right to complain in comparison to him! "I was ordered by an Executive to come and meet up with you asap. But yet I was given no excuse or any other info. So this better be good Garett." Oh. She remembered his name. How lovely.
"I respect the fact that you are so hasty to get your matters over with" he growled, "But, if I were to say that I enjoyed being tossed to the earth like a rag doll, I would be lieing." It was almost scary how good he was fitting into character. This is certainly not how he would adress someone outside of the organization, after all. His blue eyes met her green ones with just as much disgust, if not more. He wasn't afraid of her. Hit me with your best shot, baby, he thought, almost smuggly, as he rose to his feet. A Lucario - hadn't she sent it out earlier? - came racing towards them in a rush and he glared at it as well. Well, this must have been Riot. This meant it was time to answer her question.
If I have an answer...
"Good morning, Leaf. What an honor to be in the presence of someone of a higher rank," he said, though his face was still twisted into a dark expression. "Sadly, I am afraid I cannot fathom why you would be ordered to meet me. I completed my most recent mission no more than anhour ago and I was just looking for a place to rest for a few hours. I don't believe it would be wise of me to return to the base with bags under my eyes and my eyelids dropping due to sleep deprivation. Did they not tell you why you were sent to see me at said base?"
