Kaitlynn It was hot. Frankly, it was way too hot for Kaitlynn. Oh, how she hated the heat. Not only did it make her sticky and uncomfortable, but she'd have to go find somewhere to shower. Great, just great. Stopping beside a large tree, she pulled off her pink t-shirt to reveal her pink spaghetti-strap tank top, and sighed in annoyance. The volcano had been acting up again, and while it wasn't spewing lava or anything it was still making the whole town unpleasantly hot. The locals ran around as if they had never noticed the change in temperature, but Kaitlynn felt like she was going to melt. Where she grew up, the summers had never been nearly as hot as it was here at the moment. Grabbing Sparky's pokeball out of her bag, she sighed as she realized she couldn't send her out. The Shinx was already tired from the long journey up to the town, and probably couldn't take the heat as well. The brown-haired girl, realizing she could sure use the comfort of a Pokemon Center for her and her Pokemon, walked up to a local and smiled at him, wiping sweat off her forehead. "Excuse me sir, which way to the Pokemon Center?" She asked politely. The man's face grew red and he gestured towards his right, and although it was far away Kaitlynn could make out the red building's roof. "Thank you!" She said with a smile, and took off down the road at full speed, her long hair streaming out behind her. Upon reaching the Pokemon Center, Kaitlynn breathed a sigh of pure happiness as she stepped into the air-conditioned building. She walked up to the counter, and the nurse turned to her with a happy smile. "How may I help you?" She asked. Kaitlynn smiled back, and pulled Sparky's pokeball out of her bag. "Can you heal my Pokemon? She's all tired out." Kaitlynn asked. The nurse smiled wide and took the pokeball, and the girl only had to wait a moment before it was returned to her. "Feel free to rest, dear. You look tired as well." The nurse told her. Kaitlynn simply smiled and nodded, and headed over to a couch to sit down. She let her Shinx out of it's pokeball, and her trusted cat Pokemon stretched out happily before jumping into the girl's lap. "Shinx! (It's nice to be out of there!)" Sparky cried to her trainer, snuggling into her chest with a purr. Even if Kaitlynn couldn't understand her, the Shinx always talked to her. Kaitlynn, in response, reached down and hugged her Pokemon. "Sometimes I really wish I could understand you." Kaitlynn said, and leaned back on the couch to stretch out her arms. No one would really mind if she took a quick nap, right? Words: 498 Notes: Eh. I made this post for Kaitlynn to meet Will, but anyone else is welcome to join! ^^ Tagged: No one yet xD Muse: Okay at the moment...

Will trudged into the city's borders with sigh of relief. Finally, after being in the wilds for so long any town would have been great to find. It had been weeks since his last stop and now the young man was thoroughly ready for a short break. His supplies were running low, his pokemon were just as tired as he was, he would kill if it got him a hot meal, and feel hardly any remorse if a hot shower was thrown in. Heck, in other words, Will could use a full vacation. However, that wasn't an option as he was running low on funds. The teen would have to pull his weight and do a few odd jobs if he wanted to have a chance at stocking up fully.
Ignoring the occasional stare he fished out one of his last cigarettes. It had been painful to ration them so tightly. He'd been down to only six two weeks ago when he realized that it was the last pack. Good thing he hadn't been around people. Will's glare could have killed during the following days. Don't get him wrong. He didn't always have to smoke, but it made not creating a warpath easier. Will was pretty sure, he would ween himself off of them and just go cold turkey if he couldn't make enough. However, for right now he was around people. So he'd have to get at least one pack lest he end up threatening a life.
The teen was every bit a mess as he felt. The weeks had not been kind and the climate change that he'd stumbled upon had been even more ruthless. A bit of scruff started to grow on his chin. His hair was as messy as ever and still had bits of dirt, grass, and grit in it. The breeder's green tracksuit was smudged with days of filth that even the occasional wash in water did nothing to get out fully. Having been in the area for quite sometime already, the top portion of his green wear had long been unzipped. The sleeves were merely tied around his waist, leaving his scuffed up wife beater as the only upper wear.
However, judging from the some of the stares he got no one minded. This place was hot so someone walking around in something cool wasn't out of the ordinary. The looks were mostly because he was out of place and and mess mostly. No one recognized him, but were able to tell that he was a traveling trainer or some thing close. That and Will didn't think he had that bad of a body. Broad shoulders, lean muscle, and even less baby fat than before since he'd been traveling. The teen wouldn't consider himself as the most impressive of male specimens, but he certainly wasn't the worst.
Letting a rush of smoke escape his mouth, Will kept out a sharp eye for a red roof. The pokecenter had to have a pokemart near it. He'd drop off the pokemon for a check and go buy the essentials for the night. Then grab any papers that could lead to work. If he was quick he might be able to get a bit of cash quickly. He'd gone without a long shower for quite some time, only using the uncommon stream, to bath in. That or have his Oshawott spray him down with a water gun. Both an effective training exercise and a way to cool off and clean up. Thank goodness he had grabbed a water pokemon early on.
"Found you," Will muttered as he spot a red roof. He was so beat up and tired, the place was a haven. Making his way over he walked in without thinking, cigarette still burning in his mouth. He had been outdoors and away from civilization for so long he'd forgotten himself. The AC was doing a wonderful job of distracting him from noticing as well. Stepping up to the counter he grabbed the pokeballs from his belt. Looking up and meeting the pointed glare the Nurse Joy was giving him, he glared back defensively. "What."
He could see the fear flicker behind her eyes, but she refused to back down. "There's no smoking in here, sir." The woman said pointing to the sign a little ways off.
"Right." Will looked around to dispose of it before realizing that they were taking the last one and the first one he'd had in days. The teen considered eating it in front of her out of sheer spite. There wasn't even a trashcan for him to dispose of it. "Sorry, I'll be outside." Then the young man back tracked quickly to finish his last smoke in peace. Then he'd see to all the other crap he had to get done.

Kaitlynn Kaitlynn had closed her eyes and was about to fall asleep when she felt Sparky sit up on her lap. She opened one eye to look at her Shinx, and saw the Pokemon looking at someone who had walked in, its ears perked in interest. Sitting up, the brunette looked at the guy that had just walked in and felt a small smile creep up onto her face. He was cute. Really cute. However, she wasn't going to make herself look stupid in front of him. She stood up to stretch, and watched as Sparky jumped out of her lap with a cry of protest. The nurse Joy behind the counter gave the boy a dirty look because he was smoking, and the red-head handed his Pokemon over before walking back outside in the heat. Kaitlynn watched him closely, and once he was out the door she turned around to look at her Shinx, who was sitting on the couch now with an angry frown on her face, tail twitching angrily. "Sorry for practically throwing you off of my lap." Kaitlynn apologized, but Sparky simply huffed a response. The girl laughed at her Pokemon and picked her up, patting her on the head. "How about we go for a walk outside?" She offered, and walked with the cat Pokemon back out into the hot air. Now that the brunette was refreshed the heat didn't seem so bad, but it still made her want to go back inside. Of course, that was against her plan. She wanted to go try and talk to that red-headed guy, even if she had to face the dreaded heat. The outside of the Pokemon center was filled with a lot of trainers, locals by the looks of it, but she figured that the cool-looking guy was probably the type to go off by himself. She spotted him quickly and walked calmly over to him, a small smile on her face. Her Shinx followed along reluctantly, her expression not amused in the slightest. "Hey." Kaitlynn said when she reached the guy, and she leaned up against the Pokemon Center as a wave of heat hit her. "This heat is annoying. I'd rather be somewhere where it's snowing." She mused aloud, a frown crossing her face as she tried to push her hair out of her face, but not succeeding. Words: 417 Notes: Kaitlynn's trying to not be annoying. Will it work? Find out in the next post! xD Tagged: Will~ Muse: Meh.

William walked outside, the difference in temperature instantly noticeable. That and the blazing sun that still shone brightly in the sky. Moments ago, he had been walked into a rush of cool air and while inside it swirled around him. So much so that it had cooled his shirt, the cloth moist with his own sweat, giving it a feel of ice. Now that he stepped out the difference between the heating of his skin and the icy feel of his shirt was almost shocking in intensity. A trail of smoke followed him out as his thoughts settled on the Nurse Joy. The young man hadn't taken notice of the girl that he passed. For as sharp as he was normally, now he was just too tired to take in everything.
He couldn't even force himself to act tolerant of all the people outside. Trainers of all age, most of them still completely green on their adventure. The majority even doubly looked to be within their younger years as well, or in other words, children. So he slipped through them, which was easier than expected when he noticed they deliberately moved out of his way. The smoke from his shortening cancer stick acted as a natural annoyance repellant. He brushed against one kid that he hadn't seen and the boy, a youngster he believed, wanted to get in his face. However, Will merely stared and let another plume of smoke escape his lips. The boy stomped off muttering something under his breath.
Only when he reached a small spot clear of people did he settle. Out sight around the corner of the building and out of mind of those in front, he sighed and let his shoulders slumped in fatigue. The day wasn't even over yet. However, before he could start listing everything that still needed attention a voice caught his ear. A simple greeting from someone he'd never seen in his life. For a moment, he thought she was talking to someone else, but there was no one else around him. The girl even came to stand before him. Just what the hell did she want? A battle? His pokemon were still in the center. Did he look like one of her friends? He doubted it. People back home always said he looked like his father...
Then again, his biological father was a bastard so he could have had unclaimed kids all over the continent and Will wouldn't have put it passed him. He did something rare, Will actually brushed the hair out of his eyes. The curtain of red got pushed back over his head in a sloppy slicked back look and settled a bit because of how damp it was. It was becoming a hassle to see anyway. He used the new found clarity to take in the girl next to him. Young and healthy looking, probably considered a good catch to any male interested in the opposite sex. His emerald eyes met her hazel brown and shrugged at her attempt to start a conversation.
"The heat doesn't bother me anymore," he said calmly after plucking the cigarette from his mouth. He flicked off the ash that had accumulated at the end, but made no attempt to continue his line of thought through words. The heat had been a hassle when he first came close enough to this town to feel the volcanic activity, but it didn't take long to adjust having been on the road for a while now. Will had never been a stranger to labor in the sun either. Snow, however, would have been something completely new to him. Will would prepare for that when he needed to though. No reason worry about it now. Besides, the breeder doubted he could afford any extra clothes at the moment anyway. "Never seen snow," he muttered to himself as he pictured a frost covered landscape might look like.

Kaitlynn Kaitlynn watched the boy closely as he pushed his bangs out of his face. She could actually see his eyes now, and studied him as he studied her. He was tall, thin, and his eyes were a pretty shade of green. Silently to herself, the girl wished she had features that stood out, like bright blue eyes or really blonde hair. Instead, she was stuck with her boring brown colors. She always wanted to dye her hair, but her father would insist that she wouldn't because "it would never be the same again," as he always told her. She had always rolled her eyes at him, but never dreamed of dying her hair when he wasn't around. The outcomes were too harsh, and she didn't want to be stuck in her room for a month with nothing to do. Just her luck, her father probably would've took drastic measures and shaved her head or something. When the guy shrugged at her comment, Kaitlynn crossed her arms and listened as he said he was used to the heat. "Well where I grew up it was never close to this hot, even during the summer. I don't understand how people can live with this, even if they grew up here." She said, waving at her face with her hand. Sparky stood warily behind Kaitlynn's legs, glancing at the red-head with curious eyes. The brunette watched as the guy flicked some ash off of his cigarette. Cigarettes had never bothered her. Her grandpa smoked all the time, and after a while she just got used to it. Her eyes went wide when the boy told her that he had never seen snow before. "Are you serious? That's just crazy!" She exclaimed, then closed her eyes and tried to figure out how she could explain snow. "Well, snow is in tiny little flakes, and it's really cold. It's easy to recognize." She said, and watched as a couple trainers walked past them with curious looks. Kaitlynn simply glared back at them. This heat was making her a little cranky, and she wasn't in the mood to be gawked at by little kids. The two trainers hurried past and went around the building and the brunette sighed, grabbing her hair out of her face and pushing it behind one ear. She looked at the guy once again and managed a crooked smile. "My name's Kaitlynn. What's yours?" She asked. Words: 385 Notes: :3 Tagged: Will~ Muse: Meh.

Will took his eyes off her and stared into the distance. People, civilian and trainers alike, still bustled through the air. Their destinations and drive, the breeder could only guess at. The people in the area shared as much activity as the volcano that they lived near, if not more. It was easy to pick out the natives because they showed far less discomfort. Sure, the sweat and breathed heavily like the others, but they deal with it stoically instead of with a grimace. Even Will's resilience was nothing compared to the near immunity that some of these people displayed.
All the while he listened to the girl, picking apart her words for any information that could be used later. He silently waited for any hints to where good training areas or battle grounds were. Perhaps any noteworthy trainers in the area. Those were first and foremost as Will would have like to watch any battle styles and compare them to what he'd already witnessed. Each area held something unique. Generally it was because of which pokemon that were found nearby. Strategies and training exercises that took advantage of the environment was always a new and interesting thing to behold. with a bit of open mindedness and critical eye towards the small details Will could mix it with his own tactics.
However, this girl was more focused on the heat it seemed. That and the admission he'd given to not seeing real snow. Will didn't see it like that much of a big deal. It was just frozen water, right? Besides he was bound to catch a glimpse of it during his journey and would inevitably have to stomp through it and resist freezing to death in the wilds. And he'd bare it solely for adding a decent ice pokemon to his collection. Speaking of his collection, he was going to have to scour this area for anything useful as well since he had a center within easy access.
He looked back at the girl and noticed the small pokemon partially hidden by her legs. He studied it while bring up all the information he could recall about it from the files in his brain. A shinx, electric type, most like still young. Will could use an electric type too. What he had currently wasn't nearly good enough to cover a fraction of the basics. A fire type, water type, and a dual bug and poison mixture held too many weaknesses that could cost him a battle. He wasn't even sure if the bug was worth investing the time training just yet either which was partially why he'd yet to name it.
"Will," he answered. The teen took note of the time by glancing at how much his cig had dwindled since he had lighted it. Not even halfway gone. Still too early to go back even if he was just expecting his pokemon to get run through a basic cycle. "Any good training spots around here?" He asked. May as well use a source of information to the fullest while it was near.
