Why was she there? Let's count the reasons. One was very simple. Because she wanted to be there. Two was just as simple. Nothing. Well, it was all very simple in her own mind. Why would you go anywhere if you didn't want to? Pokemon trainer's were allowed to roam free, not restricted to certain areas by any person who might have been born before them and, therefor, their elders. They went where they wanted to go, an no where else, because there was no one to tell them otherwise. Wasn't that how it went? That was the entire foundation of a Pokemon trainer's life. They go on a journey because they choose to. They go from city to city because they choose to. They capture whatever Pokemon they like and train them because they choose to. There are no rules that tell them they have to, and no rules to tell them they can't.
And the place this certain female had chosen to go to was the lush city of Erayo.
"Harmony! Harmony, over here!"
Ah, yes. Of all the places she could have gone - well, of all the places not half way across the region - Lyra had chosen this place. And who could really blame her? Beautiful, brown-brown colored brick roads and side walks, almost every flower to be found lining every building, and so many trees, she stopped counting after thirty-five within the first block of the city, this was one of the places she would most feel at home. Plus, the smell of food clung to her nostrils as she walked by the many, many cafes the area had to offer. The view of the mountains in the background was a pretyt awesome plus, too, if she did say so herself. So, there she was, practically skipping down the streets and weaving her way through the people there.
The brunette, however, at that particular moment was trying to earn her water-type Pokemon's attention as the mouse-like female stared in wonder at one of the many souveneir shops that lined the streets. This particular city had always been a place of many guests because of it's beautiful scenery, so tiny shops like these were not all that uncommon. All of the residential areas were half way across the city. But she didn't care. She liked this hald much better, anyway. Something in the window of said store must have caught her Pokemon's attention, as the creature seemed to be in some sort of self induced transe, her gaze fixed on the glass a foot or so away from her fragile frame. Oh, this would not do. Not do one bit. She wanted to explore the city, not sit around whilst her only Pokemon stared at a store for hours.
"Harmony!" she repeated, speed walking over to the blue creature. Perhaps, had that name come out of anyone else's mouth, it would have been cold and stern, filled with athority as they tried to snap the mouse out of it and intimidate her into coming closer. However, being the all to childish person she was, it came out as more of a whine then anything. Cold, commanding words? As if! She'd sooner turn into a Lugia and fly into the sun then talk with that kind of tone. "Harmony, over here! Come on, we've gotta keep goin'!" she continued, picking up her trusty partner from up off the ground and lifting her into the air. She struggled, trying to break from her master's grasp, but it was to no avail. A tiny squeak of joy made its way out of her mouth when her Pokemon gave in. "There we go! That's better! We've got lots to do, Harmony, lots! We've got to visit every candy store in town, remember? We're gonna be swimming in candy by the time we're done!"
Though the Marill was displeased, she went along with it. Why?
Because once Lyra made up her mind, there was no changing it.
And visit every candy store in town they did. Okay, well, that's a lie. There were a lot of such stores, and visiting everyone would have taken her all day, guessing as she was traveling by feet. Not like she had a choice - she'd never been able to ride a bicycle and she was to afraid to step behind the wheel of a vehicle such as that of an automobile. So, instead, she visited two, three, maybr four and bought all of the half decent candies she could buy. Maybe she couldn't be swimming in it, but there more here then she'd ever gotten during Halloween, and that was saying sometime. She'd also stopped by an ice cream shop and, figuring she wasn't in the mood for any ice cream, had them specially make her a cherry flavored lemonade with soda water to add an extra kick to it. Yes, with the sour drink and so many bags of candy she was beginning to have troubles carrying, she'd have her sugar fix covered for at least a month, if not five.
"Harmony!" she cooed, even though her annoyed Marill - who, coincidently was also having troubles carrying a large bag of candy - was waddling along side next to her. "Harmony, look! Over there! It looks like a park! You wanna go run in the sun a bit?" As if that hadn't been what the two had been doing all morning. And, quite frankly, the water-type looked more like it were about to collapse from exhaustion then it was ready to run out and have an adventure. Where her master got all that energy from, the Pokemon would never know. However, it was highly likely that, along with most other people the girl came in contact with, she was angry she couldn't have half the energy the brunette had.
The girl, though still struggling with the weight of the sweets she'd purchased earlier, managed to take the creature by the hand and practically drag it over to the large patch of open, grassy land, squealing in joy all the way. "Looky! There's a nice looking tree over there! Ya' wanna sit in the shade for a bit and eat some of our munchies?" Yes. That was probably the exact thing the blue sphere wanted to do. "Oh, you don't?" Arg, and the oblivious girl struck again, annoying the only person left in the world who wanted to talk to her. It was no wonder why she had little to no friends. "Well, we can run around later. My feet hurt!"
That was what the best thing the Pokemon had heard all day.
"You know,"" Lyra stated thoughtfully, her words muffled by the large amount of sugary treats in her mouth, "I kinda wish there was someone else here to share candy with. I mean, it's nice and all since I've gots you, but you're a Pokemon. I can't speak Pokemon like you do. Do you even undestand what I'm saying now?"
Sometimes, the Maril wished she didn't.

"Memories mend me" 'N one's seen my share.' "Things I can't repair" I'll break it to you.
Gold had been on the road for a few days without any stops, and decided that when he reached Erayo city he would take a break that lasted at least a day, if not more. He had heard a lot of good things about this city, and to be honest he had come here mostly for the food. People all over had told him about the wonderful variety of food the city held, and the first thing he did was go to a fast food restaurant. After that he had acquired some Pokemon food from a merchant on the street, and he quickly ran to the closest nice place he could see; a nice park in the middle of the city. Upon reaching the soft green grass, Gold couldn't help but let out a sigh of contempt. He had always liked living with the wildlife better than the crowded streets of the city. Pulling a pokeball out of his jacket, the raven-haired boy released Aitaro onto the grass, and the monkey Pokemon began rolling around in the grass. Gold laughed and put his bag of food onto the ground and reached into one of his many pockets, pulling out the small bag of Pokemon food he had bought. Aitaro ran over to him expectantly, and the boy pulled out a handful of the food and put it into his Pokemon's hands, and picked up his bag of food once more to walk to a huge tree. It looked like a nice place to rest while he ate his food. Upon reaching the tree, his golden eyes went wide at the sight of a familiar girl: Lyra. Without a word of greetings, Gold plopped down next to the pig-tailed girl with a large grin on his face, reaching into his bag of food to pull out a burger. "Hey!" Gold laughed, making sure that the spacey girl knew he was there, and noticed she was stuffing her face with candy. "Hmm. Candy, eh? I prefer actual food, but candy's good too." He stated with a smile, and took a big bite of his burger. Aitaro climbed up into the branches of the tree and hung by his tails, munching on the Pokemon food, and Gold reached over Lyra to hand Harmony a handful of some Pokemon food in case she didn't want to munch on candy. "How've you been?" He asked, hoping he wasn't disturbing Lyra.

"Be good to yourself when" 'Nobody else will' "You're walkin' on high wire" Caught in the cross fire Crystal was fast reducing the miles that separated her from the boy she sought in her long journey which was a story that had not yet even begun. For her journey to the Lyeant Region, she had only brought her Meganium, Mega, her partner which she had met as a Cyndaquil a while back when she had first began working for Professor Oak. Now she was on a Collaboration mission from the three Pokemon Experts, Oak, Elm, and Pine, to complete the ultimate mission: to complete the national pokedex. That meant capturing every single pokemon there lived in all existence, and the Lyeant Region was the definite place to be to complete this mission, because this region was well known for being a place where all known pokemon could be found. There were no limits. Even legendary pokemon made a point of visiting this region, for reasons unknown. It almost seemed lately that all beings powerful were drawn to this region, herself, Gold, and Silver included, as if something was going to happen in this place, very soon. But the priority number one in her mind at this moment, as it had been since the time she made her decision to travel to the Lyeant region, was to find her best friend, Gold, who happened to have the same last name as herself. He was more than her friend, and maybe for those reasons, they had both ended up out here, far from home, but she was not about to be left behind. She had eagerly taken up the challenge of the prospect of completing the national pokedex, and her fiery determination persuaded her professors to agree to sending her out on this mission, even though they too knew the other, major reason for her wanting to come to the Lyeant region. Arriving at Erayo city, Crystal, knowing Gold more than most, if not anyone else, had a good feeling that Gold had been lured here by the rumors about the city's vast variety of good food. The easier part was coming to this city in her search. Not much harder was finding out which restaurant Gold could be found in. For one thing, she knew Gold would probably prefer the more rural areas to the suburban areas. Although one would think riding a giant dinosaur-like grass pokemon would make walking through crowds easier, but it wasn't. Instead, it had the opposite effect. Citizens were drawn in awe toward her, crowding all around her, in their efforts to get a closer look at the fascinating pokemon. Mega at first was a bit flattered by all the attention, but soon she too found it frustrating trying to even move anywhere. Not only that, but the scent of her flowers only attracted the citizens' pokemon as well. "Sorry Mega, but I think it will be easier if you go into your pokeball." Crystal called to her pokemon above the roar of the excited crowd. She brought out Mega's pokeball and hopped off Mega's back before the pokemon disappeared within its pokeball, and soon enough, wich groans and whines, the crowd went back to what it was doing, and Crystal could keep walking along undisturbed. She had taken a good look in just about all the food shops she passed, but still, no dark haired golden-eyed teenager with an Ambipom to be found. And this heat was beginning to have her longing to rest in the shade. Due to her hobby, and job, she was much more fit than most, and it showed in her athletic, muscled thighs and legs, that she had at least some skill with her legs. Her crystal colored eyes glanced about with somewhat of a fearsome determination, so passerby's who found themselves in her way would quickly move to get out of her way. Coming down to the end of a long street lined with candy shops, Crystal found herself looking out across a pleasant looking park, that lured her to its peaceful calm, compared to the bustle of the city. And soon enough, her gaze found Gold, sitting in the shade, next to some girl. Who is she? Crystal wondered, beginning to feel anxious for reasons she did not fully understand. Narrowing her eyes suspiciously, and frowning a bit, she walked out toward the gold eyed boy. "Gold! What are you doing out here? And who is she?" Crystal asked, pointing to Lyra, unable to hide her distress. Her frown shifted from anger to a type of sadness. "I came to Lyeant too! I've been looking everywhere for you, and here I find you flirting with some pretty brunette..." She whined, her voice trailing off, not really knowing what to make of this situation. But she thought she had enough reason to worry. What if Gold really had found a girl he liked better than her since the time he had left for Lyeant? She couldn't imagine what she would do if it were true...

The phrase "be careful what you wish for" can be used to describe many an event. This was one of those many events. After all, hadn't she said that she wished for comapny? The answer was yes. Yes, she had wished for such a thing. And company she would get within the span of the next ten minutes. Of course, some of this company wasn't exactly the kind that someone would want. She should have been careful about what she had wished for - what she got was defined by the words she had uttered aloud, but not quite what she would have had in mind.
The tree was large. Very large, if Lyra did say so herself. Reaching higher in the sky than almost any other plant like it in the park, it was obviously quite tall. It was wide as well, easy for her to lay back on and what all the branches and leaves above as though she were waiting for them to suddenly jump to life, moving and swaying like a very active infant. There were many low hanging branches - in all honesty, those branches reminded her of steps, leading up into the heights of the plant where leaves obscured a human's sight and created their own little world painted green in color. That aside, it was the perfect place to rest and snooze - there was no doubt in her mind about that.
So snooze she did.
The sunlight hit her face, warming her skin ever so gently. A gentle breeze swept over the land. The conditions were just right for a nap. And it wasn't like she had to worry about anyone stealing anything from her - first off, she didn't really have much worth stealing with her and, secondly, she never worried about such things. Honestly, she probably wasn't even aware that such people existed in the world. So she slouched down, leting her spine rub against the rough bark of the object and her head rest against it's hard surface. It wasn't the most comfortable bed, but it would make do, none the less.
"Ya' know, Harmony..." Lyra breathed, letting out a content sigh as the sun's brilliant rays bathed her skin and swallowing all of the candy in her mouth with one giant gulp, "I wanna just sleep right here... I don't wanna ever wake up, neither..." With that, the brunette curled up into a tiny ball, snuggling closer to the brown "pillow" behind her. Though Harmony let out a snort - these were beginning to be an occurance that happened within a ten minute span - the Marill did nothing to stop her. Maybe the water-type would have joined her, only the Pokemon was the one worrying about possible theives trying to steal their belongings.
Maybe it was a good thing that the Pokemon had stayed alert.
Because someone they both knew was beginning to walk toward them.
The pig-tailed trainer let out a grunt, having already drifted off into sleep and rolled around in search of a more comfortable position to lay in. This was to no avail, of course. Trees never really made the best kind of places to sleep. When a raven-haired boy ran up to her, sitting down beside where she was sprawled out without even saying hello, she remained sleeping, completely oblivious to his presence. The Marill rolled her eyes and, without warning, shot a Water Gun in the direction of her trainer's face. This would hopefully awake the sleeping girl.
And wake her up it did.
"Gah!" the girl screamed as a jet of cold water hit her directly in the face. She jumped up, heart pounding, as her head swirved this way and that to find the culprit of the terrible crime. "Harmony!" she cried, pulling soaked strands of hair from her face and sitting upright. She took no notice at all to the golden-eyed boy beside her. "Harmony, do you gots any idea who coulda done that?" She began to shiver, the breeze from before far less welcome then as it made her even more cold than she would have been, shifting through her pack and finding nothing to dry herself with. "C-cold!" she stuttered, near tears. What would someone do that?
"Hey!"
The voice nearly made her jump out of her skin, causing her head to fly in the direction of where the noise had come from. She found herself face to face with a teen, probably not much older than herself. For a moment, she stared at him, not having any idea what to say. Truly, what was she supposed to say? ... Did she know this person? If she did, his face wasn't ringing any bells in her memory bank. It wasn't his fault, honestly - he could have hung out with her for an entire day - maybe even a few - and she would still have troubles matching a face to a name. "Hm. Candy, eh? I prefer actual food, but candy's good, too," he continued, muching on a cheeseburger as his Pokemon climbed up into the trees. She said nothing in response, instead looking him over to see if he could just remember who he was... Let's see. Black, explosive hair? Did she know anyone like that? Erm... Golden eyes. Golden. Gold.
Hadn't she met someone named Silver not long before?
Yeah, this was probably him.
"Were you that one that hit me with water?" she asked, giving him - Silver, she was still guessing - the best puppy dog eyes she possibly could muster. "'Cause that really hurt, ya' big meanie!" she punched his arm lightly, honestly believing that he'd spewed water in her face... when it hit her. Oh, right. This wasn't Silver, whoever that was. "Oh, oh, oh!" she cried with sudden recognition. "You're Gold, not Silver!" With a small laugh, she giggled, "He. I was bein' kinda stupid, huh? Sorry fer thinkin' ya' hit me with water. You wouldn't do that... would ya'?" His hand reached over her lap as he handed Harmony a handful of what she believed was Pokemon food. The Marill was wary at first, sniffing it hesitantly, before taking her own handful from the pile, stuffing it in her mouth, and running away before anyone could see.
"How've you been?" Gold asked her. "Er, I'm good. Sorta. Kinda tired. Guess I kinda woke up from a nap, though, so... What about you? You been doin' good?" It was then that yet another figure appeared, walking up with a frown on her face and a spark of suspicion that the brunette could not fully understand within the depths of her crystal blue eyes. Now, Lyra was certain she hadn't met this newcomer before for two reasons. One, she usually vaguely remembered anyone she'd come in contact, knowing that she knew them from somewhere... just not exactly where. Unless if had been many years ago since she'd come in contact with the girl whose pig-tails were as anti gravitational as her own, she doubted she knew this person. Secondly... what the girl said next.
"Gold!" she shouted. "What are you doing out here? And who is she?" An index finger was thrown angrily in her general direction and Lyra's eyes widened almost comically. Shifting closer to Gold and hugging his arm with slight fear, she asked, "Gold? Do ya' know who she is? Why's she yellin' at you an' me...?" But the blue-haired girl - was it dyed that color? It must have been... right? - had already continued talking. "I cam eto Lyeant, too! I've been looking everywhere for you, and here I find you flirting with some pretty brunette..." Wait a minute. These two knew each other? Well, that was pretty obvious. But, if she'd been looking for the boy, that must have meant that the two were close friends.
Bolting up and letting go of Gold's arm, Lyra squealed, "Oh! Are ya' friends with Gold, then? Ooo, yay! Ya' never told me ya' had more friends, Gold!" She'd been practically bouncing for joy at that point, only pausing to try and fathom what "flirting" was. Oh, it must have been some fancy word for sparking a conversation with another. She could have just said talking, than. Maybe the newcomer who's name was still a mystery to her was trying to sound especially smart in front of her. So, going along with the idea that "flirting" equaled "talking", she said, "Yeah, yeah! He was flirtin' with me!" Letting out a giggle, she reached out to grab the female's white and pink jacket. "Come on! Sit down, too, will ya'? We can have lots o' fun together!"

"Memories mend me" 'N one's seen my share.' "Things I can't repair" I'll break it to you.
Gold raised an eyebrow and laughed when Lyra remembered that his name was Gold. "Of course I'm not Silver! We're nothin' alike you know and-- wait a sec! You know Silver?!"He gasped, and jumped up onto his feet. How the heck did Lyra know Silver, and what was he doing here in Lyeant? Pushing the thought aside so he wouldn't confuse Lyra any further, he smiled at her response to how she was. Now that he thought about it, she really was sleeping, wasn't she? He hadn't meant to wake her, but perhaps it was for the best. What if some creeper had come and woke her up himself? Gold couldn't stand the thought of someone being a creeper to the brunette, and clenched his fists angrily. Suddenly realizing that he was still standing up, he quickly sat back down in the grass next to Lyra. Taking another big bite of a burger, Gold smiled at Lyra only to freeze as a familiar voice spoke his name from behind him. Was it...? But it couldn't be! He had come here by himself! Slowly he turned his head to where the voice came from and, sure enough, it was Crystal. Gold-colored eyes going wide, the raven-haired boy just about choked on the food in his mouth, and quickly swallowed it. Crystal had raised her voice, like she'd done plenty of times, and accused Gold of flirting with Lyra. Lyra, probably a little scared, clutched his arm as if her life depended on it. Forcing himself to reply to the brunette's question, Gold swallowed down his fear at finally confronting Crys again he smiled rather slightly at her. "Y-yeah, I know her. Lyra, this is Crystal. Crys, this is Lyra." He said, motioning with one hand to Crystal and then back to Lyra. Without any sort of warning, Lyra suddenly let go of his arm and launched herself towards Crystal. Gold warily stood up and walked after Lyra towards Crys, a blush spreading across his face. "I-It's not what you think it is! We're not flirting or anything like that! Lyra's just a good friend! S-She was one of the first people I met after I came here..." He tried to explain, but he knew that it probably wouldn't do very much good. It had been a long while since he'd seen Crystal, and he forgot how flustered he could get around her. Not wanting to make Lyra feel uncomfortable or anything, Gold simply stood a couple feet away and smiled at Crys. "I missed you, ya know." He told her, his face still beet-red but his eyes happy. Aitaro, suddenly waking up from his nap in the tree, jumped onto the ground and ran towards Crystal too, his face extremely happy. The Pokemon ran up to the blue-haired girl and hugged her tight, letting out a happy cry.

"Be good to yourself when" 'Nobody else will' "You're walkin' on high wire" Caught in the cross fire Even on her way here, she had been catching every pokemon she had come across, and sending them to Professor Pine right away. But the original reason for coming here, actually, the real reason she had come, was to find and be with Gold. Her parents had been angry with her, but she had managed to convince him to let her come under the reason that she was on a mission from Professor Oak to capture all the pokemon in the national pokedex, which could only be done completely in the Lyeant region. She had worked to convince Professor Oak to send her out on this mission, therefor making her story true, and now, here she was, beginning a new adventure. But here was a problem, the first hurdle she would have to overcome. After all this time-well, actually, it hadn't really been that long since Gold left that she arrived-could Gold have really found someone he loved more? The tree that Gold and Lyra had been hanging out together under was big enough to cast a shadow large enough to sleep under, and by the soaked look of the brunette's hair and clothes, she had just gotten all wet by something. It was the perfect place to hang out under, so what had Gold been doing with this new girl, whose clueless attitude only left her feeling even more confused. Had Gold really taken to a girl like this? Such a thing was nearly disastrous to any girl's feelings, because if the boy they loved could love another girl with less in the ways of smarts, then the only other reason for such a thing would be, in conclusion, her looks. Crystal wasn't stupid, not in the least, and she wasn't immature either, so she didn't let something like that get to her too much. She knew that Gold sometimes couldn't help himself around other pretty girls like models and famous people, and it did get her annoyed, but would he go as far as to cheat on her for another girl? There was a gentle breeze out, softly rustling the leaves of the tree, combining with the warmth of the sunlight to create a very relaxing atmosphere. The weather was perfect for everything, including an act that could possibly be regretted. She couldn't help but worry about all the things Gold and this girl could have been doing before she got here, and something very recent lead to the brunette getting drenched. A water fight, in which Gold won with not a scratch? Or a pokemon battle among water pokemon, in which the klutzy looking girl somehow got herself involved? The possibilities ranged from foolish to forbidden, and worrying about it wasn't helping either. There were something like bags full of recently purchased candy, sweets and things, all around. She knew Gold loved food, especially good food, but he wasn't addicted to candy, like that, so the unhealthy purchase could be blamed on the brunette. What is she, some spoiled child? Crystal wondered bitterly. There was a grumpy looking marill, which was a bit odd, since usually marill were cheerful little pokemon, but it was sort've expected, having a trainer like that. Unless Gold had just caught a marill, which in that case she wouldn't know why the marill was looking like it hated its life, since Gold was a very smart trainer, and pokemon usually loved him. So far, her first impressions of Gold's new friend were somewhat along the lines of these adjectives: Stupid, strange, and clueless. Well, maybe the first and last adjectives were similar if not having the same meanings, but that wasn't the issue in her mind right now, even though she was thinking about it subtly. Don't play innocent! She thought angrily, when the girl's eyes widened in fear. This girl already had her irritated by her hugging Gold's arm and acting all scared. How dare she act like she was closer to Gold than herself, who had known Gold since they were very young. She had known Gold way longer than anyone else! Her eyes shown with a hint of a look of pleading when Gold turned and looked at her, his eyes going wide, and he nearly choking on his food. Out of guilt? Gold had no reason to be guilty, unless her fears were true. "Lyra, huh?" Crystal remarked, a hint of suspicion still edging her voice as she tested out the name on her tongue. For sure, she had never heard that name anywhere before now. Her frown deepened when Lyra went a head and confirmed that they were indeed flirting, but could she really rely on Lyra's word for that? For all she knew, the brunette might not have even understood what the word meant, but still, she couldn't ignore the facts being said to her. She looked back at Gold, now her gaze edged with sadness, but still unsure. She wanted to hear the truth from him, at least. His explanation seemed a bit desperate, but she couldn't stay angry for that long. "If you say so, Gold, then I'll just have to believe you. You've not been one to lie about things like this, I think." Crystal sighed, and smiled back, her crystal eyes now glowing with familiarity. "I missed you too, that's why I came. Baka." She replied playfully, then leaned forward and hugged Gold. For now, she was just too happy to see him again. Gold's pokemon, Eitarou, the ambipom, had climbed down from the tree, and ran toward her. She crouched down and hugged the pokemon back. Gold's pokemon were like his family, so to her, they were like her family too, in a way. All of their pokemon knew each other, and the bond was like family. "I missed you too, Eitarou." Crystal giggled. Pokemon could always wash away any worries. Suddenly, Lyra reached out and grabbed her jacket, and Crystal was forced to end the happy reunion moment with Gold, to her own personal displeasure. "W-what? Okay..." Still, there was this one she wasn't completely sure about. Maybe Lyra really was just a special case of odd after all. Crystal didn't like being told to do by the likes of Lyra, but if Lyra was Gold's friend, then she might as well be nice. She sat down under the shade, unsure of what to do next. From within her jacket, Mega's pokeball shook, and she realized that she had almost forgotten about Mega. The green pokemon could see from where he was what was going on, and hear it too, and he wanted to be a part of it too. Crystal let Mega out, and immediately, Mega ran over to Gold, nearly crashing into him if not bowling him over. "Mega! Be careful! Gold, watch out!" Crystal cried out, even though it was probably too late. Once the green dinosaur was excited, it was like he didn't know how big he had gotten since he was a Chikorita.

Lyra was a moron. Of course, you already knew that. It was difficult enough for her to process the speech and body language - heck, body language was so difficult for her to comprehend that she usually gave up before she even tried to decipher what any of it meant - of another human being. What on Earth made her think that she could understand the words coming out of two peoples' mouths all at once? What would wind up happening is that she would get lost in a tidal wave of words and end up tuning everyone out, losing herself in her own little dream world.
Well, that was likely, anyway.
The raven-haired boy never responded to her question about whether or not he'd been the one to spray her with cold water. Of course, she didn't know how to take that - had he sprayed her with water and was avoiding the question so he wouldn't get in trouble? He hadn't seemed like one to do such a thing when they met one another out in Yami's Forest not long before, but... Was that a hint of worry in his eyes? Or was that happiness? Or was it all just a figment of her own imagination? ... Yeah, it was most likely that third one. However, she was slightly curious - suspicious? No way! "Suspicion" was even a word in her vocabulary - as to whether he was the culprit... or if he just let the question fly over his head without a worry.
However, how he reacted to her realizing that she was speaking to someone she knew and not a complete stranger was quite different. At first, he raised an eyebrow. No, what did that mean...? When he followed the movement with a laugh, she was only left to assume that it was a signal that someone was happy. Therefor, playing along, she raised her own eyebrow and let out a giggle. "Of course I'm not Silver!" he said in response. "We're nothin' alike, you know, and - wait a sec'! You know Silver?" A sudden gasp escaped to boy's lips and he leapt to his feet. This time, she did not follow suit.
"Oh, ya' know that guy, too? He's really funny, ya' know. I thought he was a girl at first." She giggled at the memory. Ah, Silver. She hadn't seen him since the time she'd "saved" him after he'd gotten run over by a bus. What was he doing at that time, she couldn't help but wonder? Was he well? The sudden thought that he could have been hurt or lost shoved itself into her mind and her face fell instantly. Was he in pain or hurt? "Gold? Are ya' buddies or somethin' with Silvy?" she asked, noticably more quiet than before. "Do ya' know if he's... okay? He's not hurt or nothin', is he...?"
Another smile replaced his surprised expression when she exclaimed that she was still slightly tired from her nap. He never said anything, though, in response to her question about how he was doing and, while he continued staring at her in silence, she let out a tiny yawn and shifted into a more comfortable position. Ah, how nice that nap had been. Did she dare try and take another? Surely, it'd be rude of her to drift into slumber once more while she had company... Unless Gold wanted to take a nap, too. She was just about to say that when he sad down beside her and took another bite of his hamburger.
And then cue Crystal.
The golden-eyed boy was so startled by the girls arrival that he nearly choked on his own food. Though he actually managed to swallow it, the brunnette flipped out, screaming, "Gah! Oh, no! Gold's chokin'!" Slapping his back as hard as she could in a failed attempt at the Hiemlich Manuever. After she asked her shakey question, he replied, "Y-yeah, I know her. Lyra, this is Crystal. Crystal, this is Lyra." There was a hint of suspicion that she couldn't detect as this girl - Crystal, right? - said, "Lyra, huh?" As Gold followed her slowly as the pig-tailed female shot to her feet, he said, "I-it's not what you think it is! We're not flirting or anything like that! Lyra's just a good friend! S-she was one of the first people I met after I came here..."
Alright.
Lyra was officially lost.
"If you say so, Gold, then I'll just have to believe you." The rest of their words were drowned out as the third wheel looked on at the two in a mixture of cheerfulness and wonder. Did she have any friends who would hunt her down from Johto in a peculiar reunion like this? Sadly, no. Not unless her grandparents took a boat over. But they were growing in age and a trip like that would be far to difficult for the two of them. Not like they could just call off the Daycare and run away to a far off place for who knew how long. As much as she hated to admit it... Lyra was alone.
Absolutely alone.
Her longing to be part of the conversation was part of the reason why she latched onto Crystal's sleeve. When the other pig-tailed girl muttered, "W-what? Okay...", yet another squeal of delight escaped her lips. Finally, she could be part of the conversation at hand. As Crystal sat down, so did Lyra. And then... she entered that mode. You know, the one where people start asking to many questions and start touching everything? "How'd ya' get your pigtails ta' do that? They're all... Zig-zaggy!" the brunette asked, petite fingers poking at the other girl's blue hair. However, before she could inquite about anything else, a slight movement caught her eyes.
Chocolate eyes widened as the blue-haired girl released a Pokemon of her own. Completely ignoring the fact that the green dinosaur was headed straight for Gold and the words, "Mega! Be careful! Gold, watch out!" were spilling from the newcomer's mouth, Lyra leapt to her feet in excitement. "Wow! Your Pokemon's super, dooper big! How'd ya' trainer your Pokemon so awesomely?"

"Memories mend me" 'N one's seen my share.' "Things I can't repair" I'll break it to you.
Gold wasn't really surprised at Crystal's replies, and was happy when she reached forward and gave him a hug. Hey, that meant she wasn't mad at him, right? Or at least, she didn't look mad. Of course that didn't really mean much. Girls' emotions were so complicated. "Ya haven't been going around with other guys while I've been gone, right?"He teased, and squeezed the blue-haired girl in a tight hug. Man, he'd really missed her. It wasn't just one thing in particular about her, either. He had missed everything about her. Her smile, her eyes, even her smell. Not that she stank or anything, he reminded himself. Gold was a little reluctant to let go of her, but stepped back as Crystal crouched down to hug Aitaro. He watched the two and couldn't hold back another smile. His Pokemon had missed her just as much as Gold had missed her. Hey, the three had grown up together. Half the time they knew each other better than they knew themselves. The raven-haired boy let out a small chuckle as Lyra pulled at Crystal's sleeve, telling her to come sit down. As the two went and sat down under the shade of the tree, Gold started to follow them and watched as a red stream of light shot out of Crystal's jacket and onto the soft grass. Gold froze at the girl's shout of warning as Mega launched himself towards him, his gold-colored eyes going wide. The boy let out a shout as the huge green Pokemon effortlessly bowled him over, and sat dazed for a moment as the Pokemon ran up to him. "Hey, Mega!" He laughed, hugging onto the Meganium. "I missed you too, buddy!" Everyone being together again really lifted his spirits, and he practically felt like dancing. Of course, he wouldn't really start dancing. He would only embarrass himself in front of Crystal. And that was the last thing he wanted. Picking himself up off of the ground, Gold walked over to the two girls under the tree, plopping himself down in-between Lyra and Crystal. "You know, since everyone's all together and stuff we should go out to eat somewhere. I mean, I just ate, but I can always eat more if you guys are hungry." He said, a smile of contempt on his face. Right now, he couldn't be happier.

"Be good to yourself when" 'Nobody else will' "You're walkin' on high wire" Caught in the cross fire The wordless conversation that Crystal and her old friend Gold were sharing in their gazes was like a separate world compared to the conversation Lyra thought she was having with the two. It was becoming painfully obvious that the girl was having a difficult time understanding what at all was going on between her and Gold, and that was initially a good thing just then, since Crystal would have rather had the emotional drama between her and her friend kept only between the two of them, if it weren't that Lyra was earnistly demanding their undivided attention, unknowingly, maybe even. Crystal had only met this girl just now, and she wasn't even sure herself if the girl was just putting on an act, or was truly, genuinely, just as it looked. If anyone could understand the girl anybetter, it'd obviously be Gold, but Gold tended to understand people to a point that he was satisfied with, and then those people were stuck with that reputation for life. "How'd ya' get your pigtails ta' do that? They're all... Zig-zaggy!"Crystal and Gold's emotional reunion was ended abruptly as she found herself sitting down with Lyra and Gold. Then that topic was tossed aside alltogether when Crystal was caught offguard by Lyra's innocent question. Now that was another question that people rarely asked her. "My mom styled my hair when I was young, and I've kept it that way ever since." She answered simply, subtely leaning away from the brunette's poking fingers, but was too vain to give a retort by playing the girl's game and asking her how she got her pigtails to go up in perfect semicircles. To be honest, she had never really thought it unnatural of the way her pigtails behaved, nor seriously wondered how her mother had gotten them to defy gravity so defiantly. She wasn't so sure whether to be impressed by her mother's abilities or sarcastically amazed. As expected, Mega couldn't be stopped, and happily bowled over her trainer's best friend, eagerly covering the boy in "cheek rubs", as the non-dog, dinosaur pokemon showed affection that way. Luckily for Gold, Mega's big feet didn't all fit on the boy's chest, so the meganium couldn't squash the boy with two hundred pounds of plant dinosaur pokemon. "Gah-Nyum!" Mega squeeled happily, and finally got off his glomp victim. "Are you okay, Gold? Sorry about Mega, he's missed you too, as you can see." Crystal giggled, smiling at Gold. Crystal's focus was drawn away again from the spectacle by another innocent question from Lyra. Wow! Your Pokemon's super, dooper big! How'd ya' trainer your Pokemon so awesomely?"After a moment to think of how to answer the question in a way that Lyra would understand, without treating her too much like a child in case that she was putting on an act, Crystal pulled out her pokedex to look up the exact numbers. She tilted the device so that Lyra could see too. "See, this pokemon is called a Meganium. They can grow to be five foot, eleven inches tall, and around two hundred twenty pounds. So the pokemon's size depends on their species." Crystal explained, hoping that the explanation was simple enough for Lyra to understand. She was used to teaching young children about pokemon, but teaching another girl that looked about her age, but acted half that age, was a new concept to consider. It was only after Gold brought up the topic of food that Crystal realized that she hadn't eaten lunch yet, having spent all morning traveling, and up til now, searching for Gold. Almost as if in response to the idea, her stomach even growled a bit, to Crystal's own moe humiliation, shown as her face turned a bit red just briefly. "Now that you mention it, I've not eaten since this morning." Crystal admitted. "But you don't have to, if you've already eaten." She grinned at Gold as she reached into her bag to get Mega's food. After she had given Mega his lunch, she patted the plant dinosaur and turned to the others. "So, uh, Lyra, are you from Lyeant?" Crystal began awkwardly, trying to start a friendly conversation and learn more about the strange girl who befriended Gold while they were apart.

This would be how things turned out, wouldn't it be?
Sunny days. That seemed to be all the heavens above offered the mere mortals below any more these days. It had rained maybe once, twice, three times that entire month, and the sun was really starting to become something to be loathed instead of welcomed. Yet, oddly enough, the greenery seemed to be thriving; and who could blame them? Every time it did rain, it was raining cats and dogs. And the month still had a week, mabye less before it was over. There was always a chance of more storm clouds in the future. However, the sickeningly fair weather that cursed the lands was starting to get on certain people's nerves... such as one particular male's. Of course, we'll get to that later. It was as close to a perfect day as they'd gotten to all week, still a little to warm to be just right, but still a bit cooler than previous days. That was one plus side. That, and the few clouds above their heads could easily give way to far more, much darker clouds that brought along with them storms and such. Basically, all of this summer weather really needed to be put to a halt, otherwise, he'd have a fit.
And this "he" just happened to be a lone figure standing right smack dab in the center of Erayo City, looking slightly confused as to where he was going. A Weaville clung to his pant leg, attempting to not get crushed by the masses criss-crossing past them. The human, himself, though, did not seemed to be bothered at all by the people passing by. If he was, he was doing a decently well job of keeping it hidden. The way he attempted to peer over the masses heads, however, as if looking for something could lead one to believe that his mind was to preoccupied to be worried by such things as people bumping him slightly on their way past. The was, of course, his punishment for standing right in the middle of the side walk. He really should have learned better by now.
Silver hated large cities. With a passion. They reminded him to much of places he's already been or ones that held sentimental value to him. He kind of went to the Lyeant Region, after all, to try to breath some fresh air and forget about the things holding him down back at home. Of course, in that sense, he was a bit of a hypocrit, guessing as what he'd come to do in that city in the first place. But that could wait for a later time, couldn't it? Now, where were we? Ah, yes; and, to add to his hatred of crowded places, he'd also been caught up in crowds like these multiple times before. The last time, he'd ended up running into Gold of all people. Arg. What a - oh, wait, that also made him slightly a hypocrit. Because if Crystal was - goodness, he was getting off topic with his train of thought. The crowds were also making it difficult to look for... well, what he was looking for. His Weaville was not help, either, having been stepped on just moments earlier and still afraid to leave his side in case of being crushed by the much larger creatures surrounding the two very out of place characters. But what, exactly, had he come here to search for?
And now we can get to that part. The red-haired male had caught word that a trainer with conciderable skill - enough to catch every nonlegendary Pokemon the Pokeworld had to offer - had come to the region and was currently hanging around in the popular city known as Erayo. Well, either there was someone who was lying to the public - likely - managed to catch all of the Pokemon like they said - nearly impossible - or this mystery person was an old friend of his by the name of Crystal Demien - not as likely as the rumor idea, but still worth looking into. Well... friend wasn't exactly a good word. More like a mutual feeling of "I've got your back" or "you I can tolerate". Or, at least, that was how he saw her. They didn't chat nearly as much as each did with Gold, so their relationship wasn't really as defined as if could have been otherwise. And speaking of the raven-haired trouble maker, he'd also heard that he would be in town as well along the course of the week. The trainer tried to tell himself that he only came to see if the rumors were true about Crystal and that the gambler would go largely ignored, but a part of him actually kind of enoyed the thought of seeing him again. Well, even though they'd seen each other about a week prior - maybe even more.
"Arg, I must be going insane," Silver hissed beneath his teeth as he stopped craning his neck for a look for the umpenth time. It was starting to take a toll on his neck, after all. "Me? Looking forward to seeing him? As if. At least I might get to see the one person who brought sanity to our conversations again, though..." Finding it pointless just standing there, doing essentially nothing, the silver-eyed male returned his Pokemon to it's Poke' Ball and attempted the nearly impossible feat of maneuvering through the crowd. And nearly impossible it was. After nearly five minutes of being swept here and there, he finally managed to break free from the pack and stumbled into what looked like a small sort of park. As much as he despised parks - they came with obnoxious little children most of the time - he found it'd be better to rest there until he decided to dive once more into the sea of people. Finding a nearby bench to seat himself down on, he relaxed for a bit, taking in his surroundings. Well, there were plenty of trees. Bird-like Pocket Monsters floating through the air with that typical smug flying-type attitude many of them had. Three familiar trainers sitting by a tree, chatting it up with words he couldn't really hear from where he - Wait, what was that? Silver orbs snapped in the direction of one of the tallest trees in the park in the form of a double take.
Sure enough, it was who he'd thought it was as first glance. There was Gold and Crystal - so the rumors really were true for once - and another girl who looked slightly familiar. Oh, wasn't that that one girl he'd met after he got run over by that bus? Oh, yeah, just another reason why he hated big cities. Buses and annoying pig-tailed girls who "rescue" you by really only making things worse. Lydia or something. Lyra? Lyra? Bah, he could care less. She was as annoying as Gold, anyway. For a minute, he contemplated forgetting he ever saw them, turned around and went home. After all, he completed what he set out to do - see if his blue-haired aquaintence really was there or not - and there was really nothing left for him to do. Of course, he also noted, if he did not approach them, it was highly likely that, if they noticed his presence, they would approach him, and that just wouldn't do. It was either be slightly social or look like a fool and be just as slightly social, if only a little less. The choice was obvious.
"You know, since everyone's all together and stuff, we should go out to eat somewhere," Gold was saying. So they all knew each other? Well, it sounded by his words as though either he or Crystal had known Lyra from before this meeting. That, or he was just acting crazy again. "I mean, I just ate, but I can always eat more if you guys are hungry." With a snicker, he said under his breath, still keeping slightly out of sight until they stopped talking, "Of course you can, Mr. Bottomless Stomache. You'd keep eating yourself sick if someone didn't butt in to stop you." Suddenly, the mature female of the group appeared to grow slightly embarassed - by what, he couldn't tell - before replying, "Now that you mention it, I've not eaten since this morning. But you don't have to, if you've already eaten." Well, this seemed like better a time than ever to make an entrance. Stepping forward into view, the male said, "Crystal, if you haven't eaten yet, you should probably take up the offer. Gold could probably keep eating all day, anyway, if you let him." Flashing the girl a slight smirk, making sure to avoid eye contact with the other male of their group of four, he added, "And, I'd assume this invitation extends to me, as well. I mean, all of us together again - why not celebrate?" Because he hated celebrations? Aw, well. To late to say it aloud then.
