Hmm... now this wasn't right. A trip to the beach had turned up as a trip to the ledges of a mountain. A golden haired girl stared at her rather large canine companion with a look on her face saying 'seriously?' They were suppose to be headed for the beach but somehow, somewhere, they had gotten turned toward the mountains. Her arcanine companion gave out a small huff, Don't look at me, I just followed the path... And follow the path they did. They followed it all the way until they found themselves on a mountain path where they then decided they should try and get off the path by taking a more... scenic route. Yeah, that didn't work so well and now here they were, in the ledge of a mountain, not knowing which way to go to to get down.
Perhaps a simpiler way? The golden haired girl peered over the ledge seeing just how far up they were. Well she got pretty dizzy looking down so that was a dead give-away. Remind me never to go off the path again... She practically whimpered as she drew herself away from the ledge. Her arcanine companion nuzzled her cheek as he too drew toward the edge. A fleeting thought of perhaps a small leap could bring them lower was dashed away with the sudden thought of 'just how loose are those rocks'.
They sat there from when the sun was still before the sign of midday until the orb had found its way just a small way off from midday. Both were trying to figure out if they should try and head backward, which was not a good idea as they had destroyed much of the path on their way up, or if they should try and continue upward to go down, which also wasn't going to happen as there was no solid path up. The only way was directly down. That was not a smart thought at all. Oh they were stuck. One more time Kyuuko wanted to peer over the ledge to see if there was perhaps someone down below who could help, maybe there was a path they didn't see before... Oh the hope was unbareable.
Slowly she got on her stomach and crawled over to the ledge once more. The side had grown thin from the constant back and forths between both her and her heavier companion. The strange little hat she wore flicked as an agitated ear strained to hear anything below. Ah she did hear something...
Crack. Crack... Crack!
Now why didn't that sound good. Well the sudden feeling of getting lighter probably had something to do with that feeling. Her heart practically stopped as Kishin growled something that was deafened in her ears and her body went tumbling down in a light avalanche of rock. Instinctively to protect her body, she wrapped all nine tails around her small figure and roll down the hill as a rather large golden ball. Not that it didn't stop the pain when the rocks smacked against her.

Her mission was, to put it simply, disturbing. Well, at least, that is what others would think of it. And to be quite honest, they wouldn't be to far off with that accusation. Because she thought that very same thing about what she was doing. It sickened her, made her feel like a snorlax had chosen her chest as it's resting place and was vomit inducing, in the very least. It kept her up at night and filled her mind during the day, the very knowledge that one day, she'd have to proceed with the very mission she'd been assigned to today. However, as much as she wished it wasn't so, orders were orders and were to be followed no matter how much she protested. So, as much as it sickened her to do it, she had to. And what was so terrible about the misson she was being forced to carry out? Simple. It was murder. Route ten. Lorelei wasn't particularly fond of this certain route - mainly because it was a waste of space in her eyes. It went all the way up the mountain... only to turn right back around and continued on the path of the previous routes. Perhaps it was there for training purposes. Other then that, she found it to be utterly and completely worthless. But that wasn't the point; she was there for a reason. Veherna City. It was still pretty far away, but this was last route until she arrived at her destination. Rumours that sewer systems were the only way in and out of the city from the direction she was coming had been floating around, but... really? Who'd build a city that's only exit is the sewers it's been built over? So what was so special about Veherna City, anyways? Well, a wealthy man who captured multiple Pokemon and stored them away simply for sport lived there in the dark metropolis. He was very skilled at Pokemon battling, none the less, so if Team Imum could get rid of him, first, there'd be one less powerful trainer if a final battle ever came. Plus, the murder of someone of such high social status would achieve much attention - more then any ordinary civilian would. Naturally, he would be one of their very first targets. So why her? Why did someone so against killing someone off have to go instead of some other, battle hungry fool? Well, Lorelei just happened to be an admin of her little organization, one of the highest ranking and most skilled trainer out of all of the group. She usually took such pride in this status, having crawled her way up in the ranks and having decent enough skills to be able to maintain this position for years to come. However, if it meant that she'd have to kill more humans then your average grunt, part of her wasn't all to thrilled about being so high in rank any more. But, as previously said, orders were orders, and, if she didn't want to be thrown out or - worse - killed, she'd have to do what was told. "Certainly, I didn't sign up for such nonsense..."No, she didn't sign up for it. She didn't sign up for anything, really. It was then, lost in thought, that she trip on a loose rock and came crashing to the ground below her. Pain shot through the hands she'd used to brace herself and catch her fall, and more pain traveled through her hip as she landed on that, as well. She'd always known that this certain path was pretty rugged - rocks jutting out here, rocks jutting out there - but she'd never seen it as destroyed as this. It'd been like this for quite some distance, she suddenly realized, and thanked some high being for not letting her trip and fall until that moment. But something didn't seem right about the added amount of destruction to the path. Something about it didn't seem natural... Almost as though some large Pokemon had went on a rampage and attacked everything in it's path and the very ground below it. "Well, that's odd," she muttered, stuggling to prop herself up into that of a sitting position and wincing as her now scrapped palms dusted the rock below her. "But, if it'd been a rampaging Pokemon, the path would certainly have been even more destroyed then this... So what...?" Trying not to get to lost in her own thoughts again, she fished around inside her tiny pack and retrieved a certain object. A Poke' Ball, to be precise. The duel-colored sphere shined in the afternoon sunlight, it's crimson features standing out then more then ever and the rock-type Pokemon inside looking more adorable then ever as he slept. "A little company'd be nice," she muttered to herself with a smile as she watched the slumbering Freude, "But it'd be rude of me to -"Suddenly, a familiar sound hit her ear drums, cutting her off. An Arcanine. How long had it been since she'd last seen one? To long for her. The brown-haired female had owned a Growlithe when she was younger - Vulcan, was the fire-type's name - but he'd ran away and she'd been meaning to find another ever since. Getting a little to excited, she shot to her feet, flinching as another wave of pain passed through her left hip and dropping Freude's Poke' Ball in the process. At first, she never even noticed it's absense. However, when she realized it was gone, she paniced, feeling around the ground below her before finding it and picking it up. "Do you hear that, Freude?" she asked the now awakening Pokemon, feeling a little childish in her sudden burst of energy. "That was an Arcanine. Imagine if it's wild; I know that Master wants us to free the Pokemon, but surely catching one and training it temporarily won't hurt anyone! Let's go find out!" The duel-type, though half awak, looked worried. "Oh, come on you big baby! You're a rock and ground-type Pokemon. You'll have an advantage over it!" Though he still looked doubtful, it wasn't like he could do anything to stop her within the confines of the capsule. So, instead, he shrugged and tried to fall back asleep. And then another noise hit her ears. But this wasn't any cry of a Pokemon. This was a voice. A voice belonging to a human. "Remind me never to go off the path again..." the unseen trainer said, probably talking to someone else or... the Arcanine... That Lorelei wanted ever so badly... "I just cant ever catch a break, can I?" she muttered, jogging closer to the area where she assumed the voices were coming from. A girl and her Arcanine. But... something didn't look right about this particular female. Well, unless you concidered having the ears and tails of a Ninetails to be normal when it came to humans. She sat with her Arcanine a little ways away from a ledge, looking somewhat bored, if she did say so herself. Oh, great. So the Arcanine had a trainer. But something about this particular girl caught the admin's attention, so she crouched behind a rock and watched. And watched. And watched. And had a short nap somewhere along the way. The was, until the sound of loud cracking noises woke her from her sleep. Jumping to her feet once more and hurting her hip once again, she saw that the golden-haired trainer had - stupidly - gone off to the edge of the cliff. Well, what was the edge of the cliff. Because, at that moment, the ground was crumbling away. Forgetting about lying low and letting her instincts take over, Lorelei raced the the cliff side and extended a hand to grab the falling girl. She hoped, prayed that she had reached out in time, otherwise... Well, there'd be a pancake-shaped trainer at the bottom of the cliff in the morning. "H-Hold on!" she cried frantically. "I'll save you!"1426 words

Roll, roll, roll... or not? Kyuuko had expected to be rolling down the mountainside at some astonishing rate and then slam dead into either the ground or a rock. Well, she certainly didn't think she'd be alive right now. Maybe it was fate that stopped her from turning into a pancake or perhaps it an extremely sharp pain as Kishin held her by the tail. It could've also been a sudden voice that called out to her. A voice that wasn't a pokemon... Adrenaline from both extra panic and bit of hope surged through the girl as she uncurled her tails from her body to grab the extended hand. Thanks to Kishin's quick thinking (if not a bit excessive pulling) she managed to grab the other's hand to pull herself to safety.
A low, soft whine echoed from the arcanine's throat, Master, are you alright? Somewhat of an unneeded question if one were to look at her. A few bruises spotted here and there, mainly on her legs and since one couldn't exactly see through the thick fur on her nine tails, they looked perfectly fine (despite the mini-bite marks Kishing left on her). The looks were a lie of course, as her tails drew the most damage to protect the body, seven out of nine had some sort of bruise while the surviving two made it out with little more than some dirt.
Kitsune didn't answer him at first, of course she wouldn't. She was much more busier pulling herself up and practically on top of the trainer who had comme to help her. Man she was fluffed out, like a meowth who had just been sprayed with water or something. Four tails curled around the human figure while Kitsu herself gripped her like her life depended on it all the way until even after she was back on solid land. So much for the 'new person' shyness; the girl was far too frightened to really realize that there was actually another person there. kishin let go of her tail and stared at his master, tilting his head in wonder. What was this person doing all the way out here. He turned his head toward the original path. Ears drooped, just now realizing how much closer the original path was.
Maybe a moment passed, no more like a second before the gijinka realized what she had just done. Her head jerked to look at the face of one of her rescuers, fear was evident. Her body froze and her mind swarmed. Well this was wonderful, she was saved only to reveal her secret so soon. Saved and now she was probably going to get beaten out of fear. Then it clicked in her head that she was holding onto her... She lets go...
Tilt, tilt oh wait the drop was right there. Lets hold on for a bit longer. Grab. And once again she was holding onto the stranger. Her face red with embarassment, a tail tried to cover her face because of her shyness. Uh... Thanks..? For saving me... She had managed to say from behind her 'mask'. And yet all this time Kishin stood there with one of those jealous looks on his face. He wanted to be hugged to!

This was great. Just great. Lorelei had a mission - a fairly questionable one, but a mission none the less. She shouldn't have gotten side tracked, following a girl like some sort of stalker would and coming to her rescue when said girl decided to go suicidal. Again, she blamed it on the fact that this particular girl had a tail. No, nine tails, to be exact. However, would her Master truly forgive her for saving someone when she was ordered to exterminate another? Something told her no, her Master would not. But she couldn't just leave the girl behind, after all, especially if she was going to turn around and, instead, send another Pokemon trainer to their death. Lorelei was many things, but a murderer was not one of them. She tried not to let out a sigh of relief when she felt her spider-like fingers tangle around the golden-haired female's wrists. There was still a chance she'd accidentally let go and watch as the teen tumbled down, down, down. Or, at least, something of the sort. Or, even worse, she could come tumbling down that cliff with said teen. A surge of dread washed over her as she realized that she could have been condemning both the girl and herself to death with her bold movement, and began wondering whether her attempted rescue would be worth it in the end. Why was something telling her that it wouldn't? That it would only bring her inevitable doom only that much closer? However, she felt fingers grasp her own and watched as the younger figure help out in trying to hoist herself upward and onto solid ground. The smile that began to tug on her lips was a figment of her imagination, surely. Suddenly, bright orange fur forced it's way into her peripheral vision and she turned to find that Arcanine she'd been so intent on catching earlier come to assist, as well. The dark-haired woman let out a snort, however. 'Yeah, like you're going to be much help.' The words never left her lips, though, as she thought better of voicing her concerns aloud. They were in a life or death situation, after all - complaining about the people who chose to lend a helping hand wouldn't get them any further. Finally, after much tugging and pulling, every member of the group was safely on the ground. Personally, she liked it better this way, not having one of their misshapen trio dangling off the edge of the cliff side. Her breath came out more in wheezes then anything, the older female not used to having to hoist up people like that every day. A low growl resounded from the striped Pokemon's throat, almost as though it were trying to talk to the two. Lorelei suppressed the slightest of chuckles. Yes. Because they could both understand Pokemon language. She had no idea of what the creature was saying, but it didn't matter in the slightest. It wasn't like it was trying to warn them that the mountain side was bursting into flames. ... It wasn't, was it? She looked over her... inferior to assess the damage. A few bruises here and there. It didn't look life threatening, but to say it wouldn't be sour the next morning would be a complete and utter lie. Then, her eyes wandered to the girl's tails. From what she could see, there was little to no damage. However, with them wrapped around her to protect her frame, surely they had not come out of that event unscathed... Well, she'd never thought it possible for a human to have body parts of a Pokemon before, either, so maybe she was wrong. And that was when she became aware of the arms that were wrapped around her. "Wh-wha...?" she muttered, startled. Her icy blue eyes scanned over the limbs that had claimed the area around her stomach. The woman's face flushed against her will. She wasn't used to such physical contact as that, certainly, and embarrassment was the only way she could think of to react. She wanted those arms off and away from her, but it was made apparent that the teen had been thrown into a state of shock and it would be wise to leave them where they were. That, and they were still so close to the edge. If she let go, there was always that possibility she'd fall over backwards and they'd have to go through that whole ordeal again. Believe you her - she did not want to have to rescue the younger of the two once more. It was a pain, having to rescue anyone, much less a stranger. Oh, wait a minute. She'd never saved anyone before. How would she know the difference? There was a number of other things she also noticed during this time. One, how fluffed out the pale yellow fur on the female's ears and tail were. Poor girl looked like a Skitty who'd gotten stuck in the washing machine right before it was set to run. Sadly, Lorelei was not one for comforting people, so the girl would have to calm down on her own if she wanted to stop her spazz attack. Secondly, the Arcanine. Oh, how envious she was because she, herself hadn't such a Pokemon to her name. It certainly lived up to it's title in it's Poke' Dex entry - "The Legendary Pokemon". Ironically enough, it was not considered to be a true Pokemon of legendary status due to the fact it could evolve and they weren't as rare as the beasts that control all parts of the world around them. But the Arcanine's presence itself was not what caught her attention. No, but rather, the fact that it first tilted it's head as though confused. What, was trying to die by falling off a cliff something she didn't do every day? No. Her behavior was probably what was bothering him. But there was no time to dwell on that, as he was already moving away. The creature's gaze turned to the utterly destroyed path she herself had walked on earlier to get there, it's ears drooping in displeasure. Just then, a thought occurred to her. 'Was it these two that caused all that damage?'... The brunette tried not to laugh. How ridiculous! Why had she even thought of such a frivolous idea? Perhaps she needed to rest more so her brain would function properly. Yes, that was probably it. A lack of sleep was causing her utter and complete stupidity. Maybe she'd ask for a tad bit more time off in the mornings from her master so she could sleep longer then just five in the morning. Then, movement caught her attention and icy blue eyes met the teen's. There was a certain emotion found in those orbs of the girl's that everyone called eyes. An emotion that could only ever be described as terror. At first, the admin could only ever hope to wonder why. And then it all came crashing down on her like a waterfall - oh, right. The ears. The tail. Obviously not something natural. Perhaps this had been some big secret she was meant to keep from the rest of the population, and it'd just been discovered by the woman who apparently enjoyed watching children and their Pokemon for hours on end. ... Oh, gosh, this wasn't going to become a title for her, right? The woman that stalks unsuspecting children? The weight around her stomach vanished, almost as though into thin air, and she couldn't help but let out a great sigh of utter relief. Well, thank goodness that chapter of her life was - Oh, but the relief was short lived. Obviously the golden-haired teen had realized she was still teetering off the edge of a cliff and the only thing she could grab a hold on to prevent her from falling was the tall, dark-haired trainer. One of the many tails that hung out from the girl's clothing was raised up to the younger's face in a futile attempt to cover her crimson features. It was no use, though - Lorelei had already seen her Magikarp red cheeks and guessed that they were both just as flustered at their awkward confrontation as the other. "Uh... Thanks?" The voice was somewhat tiny as it escaped her mouth. "For saving me..." The icy-eyed adult tried not to focus on the seemingly jealous looking dog-like Pokemon. "Don't mention it," she grunted, almost bitterly as she tried not to make eye contact. Oh, this moment was just to awkward. What if someone saw? It'd be a disaster! A little more harshly, she growled, "Now, would you get your hands off of me? This is already really weird for me and you hugging me isn't helping in the slightest." It was at this moment that she took the time to back away from the danger zone; whether the teen was still latched on and was carried with or stayed behind, she could care less. A wave of guilt suddenly passed over her as she realized that she'd just snapped at someone who'd almost died. "Look, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to sound so mad..." she said in a failed attempt at an apology. Instead, she continued, "My name's Lorelei. Lorelei Ackermann."1626 words.

Waiting in suspense, waiting for a fist or even a leg to push the girl away and probably back down the fall she had just come up from. Her body felt rigid and her blood felt cold. Panic. A sense of urgency. A need to get away before she really does die. But her body wouldn't move. Frozen stiff to be exact. Even her hot embarassment was overtaken by that familiar cold feeling.
What was she going to do? She had been found out, so there was most likely no way for her to walk this path again. But there was no other way to get around. Kishin couldn't fly or swim, well he could jump to where he looked and felt like he was flying but there were no wings on his massive body that could keep him afloat. All this worry and yet when she did manage to catch a glimpse of her canine companion, she saw no worry or fear for his master but just pure jealousy. He wasn't worried for her? That means there was no threat, at least not yet. But even if this person had saved her and yet didn't seem like she was going to beat her, Kitsu couldn't just let her walk away with her secret. Far too dangerous... But what could she do? Stalk her? Tie her up? Well she didn't have the guts to do option two and so any aggressive approach was not going to happen.
Yet her thoughts were interrupted when this stranger had spoken, Don't mention it. Her words were bitter; somehow the gijinka expected them to be. After all, not only was this freak-of-nature clinging to her but then there was also her jealous arcanine practically giving the trainer an evil eye. Kishin never liked it when others touched his master... Then a thought sparked in the young girl's head; had this stranger saved her knowing while knowing about her secret? Undoubtly, her features had been revealed after the cliff had broken off. Maybe she was a friend? Heh, probably not. More of a stranger coming to help the sucidal girl or probably here to capture Kishin because no one realized she was there with him.
Now would you get your hands off of me? This is already really weird for me and you hugging me isn't helping in the slightest. This time her words were harsher than before and Kitsu cringed unintentionally.
That didn't mean she'd let go. Oh no, quite the contrary as she clung still. And so she walked ever so steadily as the trainer pulled them both away from the edge, her ears drooped and her tails wilted a bit. I'm... sorry... Even if she was sorry she couldn't let go, not yet. Now Kitsu was holding her for one sole reason, to make sure she didn't run-away with her secret. Kishin sensed that and his eyes were solely on this new person. The muscels rippled underneathe his orange and black-striped hide. The golden-haired girl was going to open her mouth before the other had cut her off with... an apology? Now that was rarer than rare for the ninetail-girl.
Look, I'm sorry... I didn't mean to sound so mad... Now the girl's ears were perked, the fear in her eyes was now fading to a light curiousity. Her wilted tails straightened and even began to wag a little. My name's Lorelei. Lorelei Ackermann.
Kitsu's features brightened, no one was ever so nice after they found out her secret. Even if this stranger was planning to attack her later, the girl was just more happy to find someone who wouldn't smack her right away. She didn't even mind the cold words the other said. Now the girl decided to let go. She backed up a few steps to allow the other the relief of freedom. Kishin however was not so trusting, his eyes still watched this Lorelei like a hound ready to chase after its prey. I'm Kitsune, Kitsune Kyuuko. She said a bit shyly before pointing to her canine-companion, That's Kishin. The arcanine made a low bark, Nice to meet you... They knew she wasn't going to be able to understand him but the arcanine thought it make his master just a bit more comfortable maybe. What brings you all the way over here? The girl tilted an ear, You didn't get thrown off the path because of our... renovation... did you? Kishin let out a huff. What I could've sworn I saw a diglet why we were walking. The arcanine barked innocently. Ah yes I'm sure there were plenty of diglet that made you pounce every-which-way. The ninetail-girl said, Kishin just tilted an ear.

The girl was stiff as a stone statue, to say the very least. And why, Lorelei couldn't help but wonder? It wasn't as though she was hurting anyone. The worst of the danger was over, guessing at they weren't hanging off the edge of the cliff side, she assumed. However, for the golden-haired mystery girl, the troubles must have just been starting up. After all, she seemed more terrified at that moment then just moments before when even she, herself was scared for both of their lives. Whatever the cause of this panic, this stiffening terror was, perhaps the blue-eyed brunette would never. And, to be quite honest, it bothered her, not knowing something. As the two stood awkwardly, only inches away from what could possibly be their doom, she thought about what could have been the source of the unease pulsing off the shorter of the two females. And then a simple thought was concieved. 'Right. This girl has ears of a Pokemon and a tail. No, nine of them,' she mused in silence, her track of sight wandering into the distance and watching nothing in particular as words filled her mind. 'How do I keep forgetting this?' Well, it was true - she'd forgotten this important factor at least three times in the past two minutes. Oh, sure she was forgetful, but really? And, with something as important as having Pokemon body parts attached to that of a human, you'd think she'd be able to keep the thought running in the back of her head. Unfortunately, things weren't looking that way for her. Oh, well. To bad for her. The woman was about to be lost in her own train of thoughts once more - this was a typical occurance for her, she realize - when movement caught her attention and she turned to look at the girl who was still latched onto her. The teen's gaze was fixed on her Arcanine, who looked more envious then upset or worried. Envious? Bah, what would it even be envious of? Did it want to almost fall off a cliff, too? Some people were stupid, but she highly doubted anyone, Pokemon or not, would want to through themselves from such a height and to their impending doom, much less a creature such as that majestic beast. Surely, it wasn't jealous of the fact that the girl still had her arms wrapped around the admin's frame. Arg, if he wanted to have this hug, he could have it. Physical contact of any kind wasn't exactly one of Lorelei's favorite things, much less having someone be so close to her for such long periods of time. 'Keep dreaming, doggy,' she hissed in silence. 'The day you stand on your hind legs and actually enjoy a hug like this will be the day I sprout wings and fly off into the sunset. But, really - good luck with that.'As those cruel words escaped her mouth, something told the tight-clothed trainer that the girl had seen such a reaction coming from a mile away. Oh, what, was she used to this? To people treating her so harshly? There were a lot of kind, gentle people out there, and she, herself was certainly not one of them; to be honest, sometimes, they made her sick to her stomach how nusiatingly sweet they were to others. Even the complete strangers were treated kindly. She couldn't muster that kind of care for anyone - not since her sister's death. But, oh, there came the tails again, crashing into her mind and leaving her feeling stupid. This girl, though it sounded quite rude, was literally a freak-of-nature, and the human population typically didn't take to kindly to those kind of people. This also meant that, when the girl flinched at her even more cruel words, she felt all the more worse about it. "I'm... sorry..."The words were spilled slowly from the golden-haired teen's mouth and made Lorelei perk up in surprise. She was sorry? It was the older of the two that was being so terrible to a person who'd probably been treated terribly all her life and, just now, had almost died. However, when her arms did not move and the taller of the two was still left in the shorter's embrace, a surge of annoyance passed through her. "Okay, yeah, but seriously - get off me." Though her words were sarcastic and somewhat cruel, her tone of voice said otherwise - more weary and defeated than angry. Her voice was also noticably calmer at this point in time and she sounded, to put it very simply... tired. That was it. The girl openned her mouth again to speak when she found her own voice interuptting whatever the teen was about to say. And, all of this time, she hadn't even noticed she was about to speak until she had finished her apology. The admin watched in interests as two Pokemon-like ears perked up in the air, probably in a mixture of surprise and pleasure. Nine tails straighted behind the female and became to wag ever so slightly, almost as though they were belong to that of a Poocheyana or Growlithe. Wow. Had that apology meant that much to the poor girl? It was just an apology, after all - she recieved apologies like this at least once every week or so. It was almost as though this were the first "I'm sorry" the girl had ever earned in her entire life. Lorelei didn't know whether to be sympathetic for her or to be proud of herself for lightening the shorter female's mood. And she knew she had when her face visably brightened. It was then, and only then that the arms that had trapped her for what seemed like an eternaty let up and set her free. Surely, her sigh of relief was much louder when she heard it then it actually was. Despite the fact that the striped creature standing a little ways off was glaring at her like some sort of murderer - okay, so maybe she was on her way to kill someone before. That didn't mean she was still going to do it now... - words flowed from the seemingly shy girl's mouth. "I'm Kitsune. Kitsune Kyuuko," she said before throwing her index finger in the direction of her dog-like companion. "That's Kishin." 'Odd names,' the dark-haired woman noted in silence. However, since no one could pronounce her name when they read it or spell it correctly on their first try, she decided not to be as hypocritical as she might have been. The large Pokemon barked in responce, seemingly answering to it's trainer's call. Some people did that, she remembered, acting as though they were a part of their masters' conversations. Not like anyone could actually understand them, anyways. "What brings you all the way over here?" The voice of the only other human in the general area snapped her out of her self induced trance. "You didn't get thrown off the path because of our... renovation... did you?" Oh. Well, now, she really felt stupid. Hadn't she been mocking herself earlier for thinking that these two had destroyed almost all of the entire path? If what she was saying was true, that meant that the icy-blue eyed trainer's speculations had been right at first and that she really was an idiot for discarding the idea. "Well, I was -" No! Wait a minute! She couldn't tell this girl she was on her way to put an end to someone's life! That could have lead to one of two things: one, the girl would get scared and run away, or, two, the Arcanine would shove her off the cliffside. And, unfortunately, option two seemed to be just a tad bit more likely then option one. "Sight seeing," she lied quickly, correcting herself. "I was sight seeing. Some great views you can get up here in the mountains, if I do say so myself..." She stiffled the sigh of relief trying to pry its way out of her mouth. Then, the girl was talking again. It was odd, guessing as it had nothing to do with what the admin had been saying just moments before. If anything, it sounded as though her words were directed towards her Pokemon. But, even then, they didn't make much sense to the older of the two. "Ah, yes, I'm sure there were plenty of Diglet that made you pounce every which way." Lorelei cleared her throat, unsure of what to say. "Er, what was that?" she asked stupidly, even though she could hear the golden-haired trainer just fine. 1549 words.

Curiosity made the ninetail girl stare at the other. She had yet to say anything about her, uh... 'unique features'. There was no way she couldn't have noticed them, in fact if she hadn't noticed them Kitsu would have to think her blind or just very, very, very inattentive. But this lady, this Lorelei, seemed far too intellegent for such a feat. Perhaps she wasn't mentioning it in fear of being attacked by this freak-of-nature and her pet arcanine. That in itself was something that kept most from actually attacking her. It was only when Kishin was off to do something or they thought they could take on both the freak and the powerful pokemon at the same time. Unfortunately, Kyuuko isn't as powerful as most think she is. Kish however not only looks, but is as powerful as his appearnace would show.
Maybe she should ask? Wait, things could turn bad... But its so tempting... Oh wait she already asked a question. What was the other's reply... Oh she wasn't listening, or rather paying attention in general.
I was sight seeing. Some great views you can get up here in the mountains, if I do say so myself..." The other had said, the gijinka looked at her in puzzlement. Well at least she heard the rest of what she was saying. Now the question was, why did it sound like a lie? For so long Kitsu had not only listened to but also created her own lies, so it wasn't a wonder she could detect them. That or she was being paranoid... again. It wasn't, however, wasn't her place to ask. And no matter how much she wanted to ask, she still wanted to ask her other question. Oh, so many questions and yet the awkwardness would barely let her ask one.
She cleared her throat with a, It does get pretty here doesn't it. She said trying to agree, but failing epically. Awkwardness was very quite evident in her voice and she tried to laugh it off. Kishin merely huffed. Although Kitsu didn't notice, Kishin realized the human had stifled something that could have easily been a sigh.
Er, what was that? The other had said after the girl's 'conversation' with her pokemon partner. The triangles on the top of her head straightened immediately; maybe the other hadn't thought that she could speak with pokemon. Her ears tilted nervously, Ah, uh, um... Uh... Kishin, him, she noted with a glance to the canine-pokemon, Had been jumping around the path chasing... Her mind went blank. Diglet. It was definitely diglet. The arcanine reminded her. Ah! Diglet, yes thats what it was. Her nerves failed her and she fell silent. A simple and very unlikely thought once again passed through the gijinka's mind, maybe she thought Kitsu's ears and tails weren't real. Well, for being unreal they were very animated...
Once again she cleared her throat. Trying to speak before the other could, I have a question... if thats okay... She scratched an ear, What... what do... She took in a deep breath, What do you think I am? Oh her nerves were shot now, her body shaking, her tails even curled inward to make a fluffy blob behind her. Kishin's eyes were now in a deadlocke stare at Lorelei. Depending on her answer, the over-protective dog-pokemon would make either a very drastic action or perhaps just an endless stare.
Kyuuko however was not so brave as she let out a rather shaky laugh, That was a dumb question... wasn't it..? Wait that made two question... Oh it would be best to stop talking now before Kish looked like he was going to eat her. Yes he did have that look at times.
